I must be naïve. I often hear trolls being mentioned but don’t notice them much myself. Is a troll someone who disagrees with the majority opinion on some issues? I hope not. That would make me a troll.

Or is a troll someone who is trying to lead people astray? Or someone who starts so many threads that they are a nuisance? Or someone who simply is trying to destroy the website?

A troll is a person who deliberately makes offensive statements with the intension of upsetting an individual. Generally speaking It's fine if a person has an opposing view. However a trolls main objective is to constantly irritate a person to anger and gets enjoyment out of it. Trolls also tend to ask sarcastic questions they clearly know the answer to but seek a reaction from others. But again their objective is to irratate & get a reaction out of people.
