The Lord provided us with commandments to follow. The Pharisees then added a myriad of new commandments to follow. Let's not be like the Pharisees and add to the Lord's commandments. I am aware of nothing the Lord said negatively about sports. Paul even talks about running a race. (He was speaking figuratively, of course.)

50/50 on your picks. (I could have warned you against the Chiefs. Andy Reed. He's great at getting teams into the playoffs. Not quite up to getting a big ring on their fingers though.)

And I went with Packers because:
A. Dallas Cowboys. Everyone has to beat them. (They are the team I love to hate. lol)
B. Aaron Rogers. He's getting long in the tooth and I just love seeing the old-timers winning the big game. (Same reason I rooted for Denver last year.)

I'm looking for the person with a 75% or above track record for picking the right team. Haven't found that person yet. :)

res,

George Washington Carver knew God gave him a mine that could study just about anything. He asked God to teach him one thing -- the peanut. In the grand scale of the universe, what is a peanut? And yet, if it weren't for Carver asking God to help him learn one thing, we would not have vaccines or Husky Puppies. (I miss Hush Puppies. Delicious, but I can't eat fried foods anymore. And that happened shortly after learning about Hush Puppies. lol)

God gave us a huge universe to play in. Don't we all pick one or two things we want to enjoy out of it? I know one of the things you enjoy is going on walks together. To think football is taking time away from God for others is much like me deciding you going on walks is doing the same thing.

I'm not a football fan. (I'm a Philadelphia Eagles fan. Big difference. I care about what one team does compared to the sport itself.) But in that I see why some get into football as a whole.

I've recently learned the marvels that God has done with the human foot and leg, by learning what action has to be done to make a good punter compared to what action has to be done to make a good kicker. This amazes me because, until I just figured that out, I thought it was the same thing. And yet God gave a certain kind of guy the ability to do one, but not the other. And it has to do with using your God-given brain to know how to make your God-given body perform that task.

A few years ago, the Eagles kicker pulled a groin muscle. And then he kicked the ball. I've pulled a groin muscle. No way I'm kicking even a leaf after that. And yet he figured "it would only hurt a moment, so worth it."

Me? Nada! No way! Never going to happen.

Even in football we learn about God's design and the human heart.

Isn't that just as amazing as watching a squirrel circle up a tree? (And, I really do love watching squirrels circle trees. Why circle? Not like they can't go straight up?)

I know. Even smaller than learning "peanut." But that's the point. God gave us a whole universe to enjoy what we like to enjoy. Not the same thing as cutting out God-time. ;)

I used to hate the Cowboys back when they and my beloved Cardinals were in the same division (and my beloved Cardinals couldn't beat them). Now I hate the Seahawks.

My track record is 100%. (My track record is aided by a bad memory.)

The most annoying teams NYG DAL and SEA are out. I'm so happy lol. Matt Ryan is going to destroy the Packers though.

Houston would appreciate it if they weren't somehow more dysfunctional than the Cowboys lol

I was rooting for the Chiefs too. And the Cowboys. And the Texans...

I didn't really root for anyone in the Seahawks - Falcons game.

Now I'm rooting for the Packers and the Steelers. You know what that means...? Patriots and Falcons probably in the SB...
