Yeah, I find that a very sad situation. We all call ourselves Soldiers of Christ, yet we fight together and have so many civil wars it is horrifying :( I am sure the devil laughs at our irrelevant disputes, which probably fit into his desire to make us look away from the Cross.

Yet God controls even this.

There will always be passionate exchanges in forums. Especially ones dealing with religion.. Some people are not suited to the forums and they should probably stay in chat.. Or avoid certain topics on the forum..

The moderators should intervene if someone oversteps the mark of acceptable behavior..

People who are very sensitive should avoid passionate discussions..

This site is no different than any other forum Ive ever been on. When a serious conversation comes about, and someone comes in to tell others their wrong, it will become heated. And that in itself is not a bad thing, people should avoid becoming angry, but if we did not debate with each other, there wouldnt be anyone to guide or sway others opinions.

There are times when people go to far and resort to insults and other things they shouldnt, Im sure. But at the same time I have seen people become emotional merely for the fact a debate became a bit heated, too. Ive even seen people stop a convo about something like "Why is Islam wrong" to tell others they need to be more loving.

Some people take debates and disagreements too far, and some people believe that debating = hate and violence. Like any other gathering of people discussing a serious issue, there will be times where it goes too far. Other than that, though, this site is literally like any other place that talks about serious issues that Ive ever seen : p

That's right. It's just that most other sites have a "theology" section where it all takes place.

Heated debates will always happen and heated debates have their purposes and can be beneficial because one can learn from them. People can be very passionate in their debates but it's not the heated debates that are the issue it's how we respond and react in them that causes all the damage. We have to understand that sometimes people refuse to listen to reason and if a debate just begins to be an all out war then that debate has lost it's value.

Many in the bible discussion forum have been Christians for many years and because of this they have the responsibility to show those who are younger in faith how to react and speak in Christ but this is not the case most of the time. Honestly we have no excuse for how the bible discussion forum is because it's only a forum we are the ones who made it this way and if it is to ever change it has to start with us. I know the bdf seems like it won't ever change but I believe it can it only takes us to be willing to make that change

1 Corrinthians 11 KJV
[SUP]17 [/SUP]Now in this that I declare unto you I praise you not, that ye come together not for the better, but for the worse.

[SUP]18 [/SUP]For first of all, when ye come together in the church, I hear that there be divisions among you; and I partly believe it.

[SUP]19 [/SUP]For there must be also heresies among you, that they which are approved may be made manifest among you.

Division and contention is not nice.. But it does serve a purpose for those who are seeking the truth..
