Initially the UMC comment was a joke, but I do think that if a church has a rainbow flag out front, it cannot truly be classified as Christian. :p

I didn't know that the UMC and the Lutheran Church would be considered cults........

Not saying I agree with every single one of their doctrines; I just had no idea they could be classified that way. ;)

Phoenix is supposedly a big recruitment capital for ISIS.

I didn't see too many Muslims while I lived there, however.
I don't believe it is all that bad concerning isis recruitment here in the Phoenix area . It is true though in the past few years the Arab immigrant population has grown here in Arizona. You probably won't notice it if it weren't for all the mosques being built lately. Although most of the immigrants I have come across from that area of the world were Christian.

The only Mosque I saw in my entire 9 months while living in AZ was right off the I-10 in Tucson.

Some people have an odd view of what they class as a cult. It appears to be everything and everyone who practices their Christian faith differently from themselves which in itself is a hallmark of a cult

I was asking, because it is true we all can become cultists.
As a teenager I was part of an open brethren church.
Now we felt the best, really biblical, no full time pastors, driven only by the word of
God and the Holy Spirit.

I worked with a christian evangelistic organisation and we worked with all the churches
who wanted to preach Christ. One of my best friends hated catholics, growing up in
the orange Lodge in scotland. But the Lord delivered him from this and put love in his
heart.

So I ask not so much what people believe but is love and an open heart at work.
Once peoples hearts go hard, whatever they believe will go bad.

No they have a secret hand shake everyone knows about, like the Masons
To be serous it's a hot topic here in town on local talk radio. Most every time it is investigated by the police or FBI it turns out to be outside folks doing things an not locals. Still it is to be watched ,and not dismissed.

I left a Christian Church because in my opinion they were cult. They don't have fellowship with any other churches and they believe every other church is wrong. They also don't believe in lifting Your Hands In Worship or any other worship other than just sitting there on your gluteus maximus.
On the subject of Jehovah's Witness, I'm not entirely convinced that they are a cult. They still teach birth death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, they just don't believe Trinity Doctrine. I'm not going to throw them under the bus or not teaching Trinity Doctrine because in my opinion this is a questionable Doctrine. Technically one could argue that Christianity is a cult because Christianity have never mentioned in the Bible. The Bible was written for the Jews..... Messianic Judaism would be a more accurate description of what the Bible teaches

Some say the Freemasons are actually a luciferian cult. I'm not educated enough to speak on it but one of their symbols is a pentagram which represents Lucifer

I have never seen a pentagram anywhere near a mason lodge. I always see the square and compass.

I was in a cult and gang in-service class years ago and learned that the pentagram was a very early Christian symbol that is still found in stain glass windows of old churches.

I also learned that Amana appliances and Oneida silverware was started by cults.

Okay, now that's BS. Sovereign Grace's Baptist Church is filled with gluttons and waterboarding addicts, but they are not a cult!

Every Christian denomination thinks every other denomination is a cult.... which is cult like in itself

The local optimist club is definitely a cult made up of realtors used car salesman and local politicians.
