The local optimist club is definitely a cult made up of realtors used car salesman and local politicians.
It's a countrywide organization. They are thriving on bogus deals.

Christians' are always surrounded on every-side, in one-way or another...
if our Spiritual Eyes are readily open and on alert for whatever Jesus allows
in order for us to truly awaken/learn the ways of the world, which we are all born into
He teaches us how to use His Sword and Shield in every situation that befalls us as we journey -
'here a little, there a little'...

So the general consensus of this threat is everyone I don't agree with is a cult
A cult is any religion that venerates a man, false deity, elementals, heavenly beings, etc; basically anything that is not the true God.

ie: cults of humankind (Cult of the DPRK Kim Dynasty, Ancestor worship, Imperial cults, etc.)
cults of the doctrines of man (Lutheranism, Calvinism, Wesleyanism, Judaism, etc.)
cults of daemons (Hellenism, Wicca, Hinduism, etc.)
cults of elementals/earthy beings (Fire worship, Earth worship, Animal worship, etc.)
cults of heavenly beings (Astrology, Sun worship, Angel worship, Moon cults, etc.)
cults of idols or inanimate beings (Statue worship, Cargo cults, Money worship, etc.)

Typically the attributes of the above will overlap. For example Islam is mentioned much, they perform rituals to an idol (the black rock of Mecca) and venerate the doctrines of Mahomet whom was also possibly inspired by daemons. Or in Hinduism being a very broad term for smaller cults of daemons, idols, ancestor worship, and elemental worship, etc.

There really are such things as witches I seen em but it's my belief that witches are actually nephillum, and I bought a "bug" detector off ebay from a guy in Arizona that was later arrested for helping finance terrorism ,of course I wouldn't have bought it had I known that ,he was really helpful though it didn't come with instructions so I emailed asking about it and he kept emailing making sure it worked good,he says send it back free I'll send you another, they are kinda sensitive especially the non digital types.

Id have to disagree with Lutherism, Calvinism and Wesleyinsm being a cult because it just simply is not.

The talisman cult

With christian faith it has always been a problem people who
follow Christ as a way of earning a place in heaven while not
letting Him in to their hearts.

Legalistic groups do this, with strong rules of conformity without truth about failure.
Grace or lawless groups do this, with no rules of conformity, condemning all others while
not showing the basics of a good follower of Christ by accepting hypocracy as the way.

Walking without being honest within is their hallmark.
And start talking about being real, and they will condemn you as a trouble maker and
throw you out.

There are enough examples of this in this forum, to demonstrate cults get everywhere.

If calvinism, lutherism and wesleyanism are cults then there goes the Presbyterian, Anglican, reformed, congregational, dutch reformed, Episcopalian, some baptists, Lutheran, Methodist, uniting, churches, and thats only those at the top of my head.

Not to mention the men that believed and were apart of such churches.

Oh, I thought he was wondering what a cult was. Not really saying the same thing, you are free disagree. I'm just going by what the definition is according to the Bible and the dictionary.

Yes, that sounds about right. Bible warns very copiously about the cults of the doctrines of men. One might opine they are even worse than the other cults, as that be the cult which crucified the Christ and killed all the prophets, though they're all pretty equally bad.

Matthew 15:9

[SUP]9 [/SUP]But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.

2 Peter 2:1

1 But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.

Mark 7:13

[SUP]13 [/SUP]Making the word of God of none effect through your tradition, which ye have delivered: and many such like things do ye

Luke 12:1

1 In the mean time, when there were gathered together an innumerable multitude of people, insomuch that they trode one upon another, he began to say unto his disciples first of all, Beware ye of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.
