We learned W= F x d or work equals force times distance.

Like other posts, this could have been in the women's forum, but guys have many thoughts and ideas too. Please just help explain how cleaning a ref and putting back items, or working at home like getting items from the ref, slicing near the sink, cooking on the stove, setting... then clearing again, putting leftovers on the ref again, is work. One can get very tired, but where's the work gone? Maybe it's been asked before, but i havent seen. Thanks for your patience.

Well, the food don't get itself from the fridge..the stove can't slice and dice food..the table can't set and clear itself of dishes.. It takes work to do all that.. Once everything has been prepared, cooked and cleared, THAT'S where the work went. :)

First, it's not necessarily true that we men have thoughts and ideas. However, I think your equation is in error. It should read W = (F x D) + (F x D) + (F x D) + (F x D) + (F x D) + (F x D) (and so on).

Maybe I can shed some light on this, since I teach eighth grade physical science. Work = Force X Distance. This means in physics, if an object is moved some distance using an amount of energy (force), then work has been done. This means even walking is work, as you are using energy as you move a distance. BUT, this means standing in front of a class and teaching is not work, unless I count bumping my gums in an endless stream of (womp, womp, womp, womp, womp) is moving my lips a distance.

This is great because now I can say I am working when all I'm doing is moving food from my plate to my mouth..

I seriously doubt this question has been asked before here on CC............ :)

Hmm........I moved my fingers quickly across the keyboard causing the print you are now reading to appear on your screen....and the print moved across the screen from left to right, margin to margin allowed........ergo, you are witnessing W = Fx d are you not?

Some verses on work i've been looking at.

Proverbs 14:23
In all toil there is profit, but mere talk tends only to poverty.

1 Thessalonians 4:11-12 and to aspire to live quietly, and to mind your own affairs, and to work with your hands, as we instructed you, so that you may walk properly before outsiders and be dependent on no one.

1 Timothy 5:8 But if anyone does not provide for his relatives, and especially for members of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.

Ephesians 4:28 Let the thief no longer steal, but rather let him labor, doing honest work with his own hands, so that he may have something to share with anyone in need.

Luke 10:7 And remain in the same house, eating and drinking what they provide, for the laborer deserves his wages. Do not go from house to house.

Proverbs 12:11 Whoever works his land will have plenty of bread, but he who follows worthless pursuits lacks sense.
