Cancel it all together. It's a joke holiday that serves only to boost profits for confectioners, jewelers, and flower growers.

What do you mean by improve? And by "we" do you mean the body of Christ? Or people, in general?

Anything created and managed by the human race is bound to be filled with flaws. While I like Valentine's day, I also know that our world/culture has made it completely superficial and unlikable.

We could move it-- i mean this, to the suggestion forum-)?

Valentines is really both funny and tragic. Did u ever hear someone write the lyrics to his/her funny valentine that says:
Your looks are laughable, unphotographable,
Yet you're my favorite work of art.

Suggestions forum is for the site, not life in general.

And to the other critical people, just because some people may take advantage does not mean a sincere person can't make it personal and special to the person that is special to them. And just because someone wants to utilize a day to take extra steps does not mean they don't still regularly show love to the person that matters to them.
The same thing could be said of any other holiday or birthday. Some people just like to complain.

***how can God's people make it better----it is usually superficial to superficial people---to others it can be meaningful and romantic even in the Lord...

Many churches have Valentine's Day Banquets, so I suppose that is something you could institute in your church. It wasn't just for married people at my church growing up, it was for everyone- love for each other in the church, kind of nice, actually.

Alright, we're all thinking it, but nobody's saying it....

Carbon that's been compressed for millions of years improves Valentine's Day immeasurably.

Wish others a...:
Yad Senit Nel-av Yppah!

Sure, it is the same. But it adds somewhat-spontaneity to an otherwise normalized day of expected surprise.
Plus, it is more fun to say :)

Make it an official holiday so everyone has the day off.
