Okay, so for the past two days I have had the bang your head against the wall kind of days. I get into my car, buckle up for safety (thats kind of important :p), and start up my car and breathe in the most wonderful aroma that helps calm me down and relax so I can enjoy the evening. Ive even had my friends get in and comment how my car smells so good and relaxing it is. So what kind of smells help you relax after a long, exhausting, and challenging day?

Lol good guess, you are correct. Usually lavender is too strong for me, but its paired with vanilla so its not so strong. Im just glad I got rid of the new car smell with this.

What smell is relaxing to you?

I like Eucalyptus as it clears out my nose and I can breath better but I just love that smell.

But I love love Cinnamon and spicy smells like baked cinnamon buns...or bread.... popcorn is great too when it is popping and coffee when it is being made....

I found these in a Nature Republic store in NYC's koreatown...nature republic's forest therapy fragrance diffuser, the scent i particularly LOVE is the Morning Dew fragrance, I use it in my house.

I'm also really digging the smell of Lysol bathroom cleaner these days.

Humm besides the smell of a fresh cut evergreen tree ( Christmas tree ) . The smell that gets me to relax is that fresh off the grill smell of a juicy slightly rare burger along with hot out of the oil aroma of french fries. Yea it sounds nuts but that's just me ha ha

I used to love the smell of lavender
Until one time I was super ill and I had used lavender Epsom salt to soak in a bath the day before, and the smell of lavender just lingered for a few days during the same time of my illness, and I just associate lavender with the time I was throwing up nonstop

Makes me queasy now

You know something, I was twelve and my mom fell in the bathtub and had compression fractures in her back (they never heal) and impaled her armpit on the shower knob and was taken out of the house on a stretcher to stay in the hospital for about a week. During that time I was lady of the house, cooked, cleaned, and all of that but was freaking out on the inside cause I didnt know what was going on and the only way I could calm down and relax was to wear my moms sweatshirt because it smelled of perfume and knew all was going to be okay

When it comes to choosing air freshener smells, ocean breeze is a favourite of mine.

Oh, and obviously rose. Lol.

I was a active distributor of Young Living essential oils at one time. Actually I still am but rarely pursue selling them any more. I just purchase for myself.

I would say sandelwood, lavender, vetiver, spikenard and helichrysum are some of my favorites.

For blends of oils from that company I like Joy and Peace and Calming.

BTW, there are very few oil companies that actually produce therapautic medicinal oils that actually promote healing.
If it says "natural" or 'PURE' that means literally nothing as far as its pureness or how natural it really is.

Right? That and the smell of PineSol and Bleach....smells sooo good
Excuse me while I gag. lol

My first job after college was cleaning woman. I ended up having to clean other people's places (offices, homes, and nursing homes) after that, so.... all those cleaning fluid smells make me uptight and feel all rushy. Pretty much the speed one must work cleaning for money.

Spic 'N Span. Apparently not a smell used by professionals, so that's the one I prefer at home. (Still have to use bleach, but I hate it.)

Similar problem I had with black popcorn once. (Black popcorn. Still looks the same when it pops, but the kernels are black.) I ate some right before having a stomach bug. I couldn't eat popcorn after that for quite sometime, until I got picky about the adjective. It wasn't popcorn. It was black popcorn. So, I simply can't eat black popcorn anymore.

Not a problem. When was the last time you saw black popcorn for sale? lol

Try thinking of that smell as epsom salts and you can go back to lavender. (But may never go back to epsom salts. lol)

One word: BACON!

I'm actually joking -- while I like the smell of bacon, it doesn't actually RELAX me.

I think the most soothing smell for me would be lilacs. I love them. And hyacinths.
