I have been talking to people and felt they were a troll. Then something they said made me change my approach. Some have just left, some were banned. But for some reason I felt there was something more than just trolling. That's my point, its hard to tell. Mods say don't engage, but sometimes its not as clear cut as you would think.
It is for the mods. They've got stuff that tell them IP addresses once they suspect. lol

IDK either. But how about don't call someone a troll until there is no other choice on what's going on with that person? (I still feel bad for the guy who was angry with God. I also feel bad for a couple of people who thought they were being rational, but clearly weren't.)

For instance. The famous Jack. What is the fear with him?

He might persuade someone that Jesus isn't God? Who's reading 25 pages to figure out his point to begin with and then another how many more pages to figure out if he can even prove the point? Honestly? I was where most people were most of the time. One big HUH?

He might be yanking someone's chain? Er, yeah? So? Once I catch on that someone is, I'm somewhere between embarrassed and annoyed. The annoyed part is I was played a fool. Er, yeah? Been there before. Got the T-shirt. Don't remember any bumps or bruises except to my ego. My ego. It can use some deflating on regular intervals. And me being fooled again? It's happened so often, it's down there with "Dog Does Doodoo on City Sidewalk" for non-story in a newspaper.

I really do get how annoyed people are when Jack comes back. Besides that, so what? Does he cause harm? I see some harm when he comes around, but that's on the people who think it's so very important to smack him down. And they cause themselves harm, not Jack harm. Kind of like if I keep hitting myself with a frying pan. I'm not blaming the frying pan. When it hurts me, it's time to stop doing that.

I did see the post early on. Kind of like reading directions in Swedish about how to put furniture together. It's not English. It makes no sense, so why keep reading? Let the people who understand Swedish figure out what's being said.

Exactly what is the horrible thing most do that causes them to be banned, other than an overall sense of indignation on everyone else's part?

And Jesus said "the things I can do you can do also, and greater things." I'm someone who sees Jesus as being on the same level to all of us except he was as close to God as anyone could ever get. I don't put him on a pedestal, and say we don't have that power. I really think this is the most limiting perspective many Christians have. It's a cop-out for being able to judge others, throw out the trolls, and not see who you don't want to see as human.

So yes, WWJD? Well he wouldn't create walls between him and those he judged as in-need, due to thinking he couldn't deal with them. Even the most challenging people, trolls included, have something to teach us, and we them.
One of the things the disciples had going for them that we don't on here is being face-to-face with the one they are praying for. Really hard to pull off you're a 14 year old guy from Montana when my eyeballs are looking at a 40 year old guy, my ears are clearly hearing Afrikaans accent, and the guy is dressed up like Ironman. Face-to-face tells us infinitely more than writing on a screen.

The disciples could lay hands on the person too. I'm not saying laying hands facilitates miracles, but it surely is physical contact that is not causing the one being prayed for to shrink back in revulsion either.

And they were tight, so when they prayed together, they literally prayed together. Time zones and forums make that nearly impossible to do online.

We can pray together, but it doesn't have the spot-on directness the disciples have. On the other hand, a multitude of prayer does seem to move God, so he's not leaving us powerless either. We really could use some more tightness together though.

I saw that "The Born of God" thread when he first posted it. My first thought was "troll" and I walked away from it

That is my new way of dealing with things I don't like! Walk away!

Anyone notice I am not around very much anymore? Lol
I really have noticed, but I keep hoping you're out biking. lol

Actually, we've been out of town most of the last month. We went to the Grand Canyon and Phoenix, driving the 5000 km round trip pulling our trailer. Then off to Calgary to babysit for a week. I love my grandkids, but we both come home with super daycare colds. Hubby recovers, but I always end up on antibiotics. I'd like to blame the 3 immune suppressing/cancer drugs, but I was like this 10 years before I got RA. So no more babysitting! It might be the death of me!

But I am not arguing with trolls!

PS I got out biking a few times in Arizona, and the last time a car hit me. Worst luck!

 Please tell me "the car barely hit me" vs. "I'm in the hospital recovering" that's going on in my mind now. How bad was the hit? Because with RA, even a "barely hit me" has to hurt so much more than if a car dinked me.

"Jack" trolls here just for the giggles of it. Once upon a time he had a video of himself on youtube, sitting and trolling us here.. So he does it to get his jollies.

It's a long tale, but yes, I am more or less ok! He hurt my lower back and my neck twisted, but I just keep doing my weights and stretches, and it seems to be improving.

I got the guy's name and insurance, after having to call the police. Three squad cars and 5 police turned up! It was scary to me, and that old liar who hit me was pretty freaked out!

Anyway, I am not doing a claim against him. But when I got hit by a car in 2012, I went into shock and didn't get the name of the woman who hit me. I was not as lucky that time, I had a broken elbow and a dislocated knee. It would have been nice to have some money for PT. So this time, I was in shock, but remembering what happened 5 years ago, I demanded his info!

Live and learn, and thanks for caring!

Wow! I've never been in an accident where someone lied. (The only times I've been in accidents where it was my fault, I also hit my own car, so no one else got hurt. lol) Since the accidents were no doubt the other person's fault, I felt bad for that other person, (How embarrassing to decide to move into the other lane when there is a car right next to you, or how embarrassing is it to be a bus driver turning into the depot to start your shift, but instead shooting out from a line of illegally parked car right in front of someone driving in that lane? I get that kind of sheepish embarrassment even if I didn't do it. lol), and didn't bust on him for doing something stupid. We just exchanged info, and dealt with it from there.

I really don't get why people take it out on the victim when they're the one who hurt the person. I can understand the desire to try and drive away in a hurry even, ("I couldn't possibly be that stupid" or "I can't afford to lose my driver's licence"), but to leave someone hurt? I just couldn't do that. Or to yell at the person I hurt? Not even.

A woman fell on our sidewalk last winter. There was a hole in it, so I don't doubt it's my fault. (We had just saved up the money to repair it, but our steps died, so used the money for that instead, and started re-saving.) Had she come to my door (which was only 10 feet away, including steps), I would have helped her immediately. And I would have blathered away that it was my fault, I'm so sorry, and what can I do to help you.

As it stands, she, instead, chose to sue. That was back when John was being transferred from one hospital back to the original VA hospital, so I remember that night well. (January, but warm out. Warm enough that my front door was open.) I didn't have time for a lawyer to counter her, nor would I have done so, if I did have the time. Ends up she's paying a lawyer to get less than what she would have gotten had she come to me. I gave the claim to my insurance company. It's 14 months later and it's still not settled because the lawyer is not handing over the paperwork.

Had she come to me, I would have given her her deductible too. (Steps cost less than sidewalks.) AND I would have given her homemade muffins when she came home from the hospital. If need be, I'd fix her meals even. (I was tempted to call her, when I got the letter from the lawyer, but he said I couldn't, so I haven't.) Flowers. Clean her house. Grocery shopping. I would have tried my best to help her while she recovered.

Oh Lynn, it was so bad! First the guy lied and said he didn't hit me. Then he offered me $20 to just go away. Then he admitted to police he hit me, but since I didn't fall down, it wasn't an accident! Say what?!

The police assured him it was a motor vehicle accident and that he had to exchange information including his insurance information.

He kept trying to downplay what happened, but I was in hysterics by then. It was pretty obvious something bad happened. I was in shock, and he continued to soft peddle what he had done. 70 year old geezer who thought he could charm his way out of what he did! It did not work!

Sidewalks in most jurisdictions belong to the city/county. Seems her lawsuit is targeted at you wrongly. (?)

If he couldn't get the cops to believe it then, I suspect his act never worked.

I'm in Philly. My sidewalk is also my front yard. Here's a recent photo taken from my steps. (The plant containers are also on my sidewalk, but I didn't need to get that part replaced.)

So they count our sidewalk as our property.

DSCN0044.jpg

We did get that new sidewalk last spring. Funny. New steps came the same day I took John to the hospital for his heart attack. (I came home late that night to find my steps were roped off. The cement had dried by then.) New sidewalk came four months later on the same day he was transferred from the hospital to rehab. So, he left our house on wobbly steps and a falling-apart sidewalk, and came home to new steps and sidewalk. A nice homecoming present, since he was using a wheelchair then. (He could get up the steps, but it was a chore for him.)

Now his cane is getting dusty. :)

As sure as I am that it is the responsibility of the city to pick up ALL trash, not just the trash that is convenient to them to pick up. (Sanitation told me my boxes of used medical supplies weren't picked up because I didn't separate the cardboard and plastic form the rest of it, ignoring the fact that they were portable wound vacs that are plastic and electronic. And ignoring the fact that the cardboard had a coating on it to stop it from fitting into "recycled" so it was trash, not recyclable.)

As sure as I am that cops are supposed to come to our houses or cars when we are robbed, instead of we going to the cop station to fill in a report.

As sure as I am that when you tax a business for something as stupid as sweetener in a drink, that business will have the customers pay that tax instead of keeping the cost for themselves to pay.

As sure as I am in knowing public school kids should not have to be beaten up every day simply because the city doesn't want to "discriminate" against the bullies because of their ethnic background.

There is the law, in this city. And then there is the reality. There is no way of getting this city to keep their own laws without paying a lawyer a year's salary to do that. There isn't even a way of getting this city to deal with the district attorney taking bribes. That had to be a federal suit.
