I make a great blueberry or apple pie!
But I digress. I believe these doomsday scenerios are all a result of crazy dispensatonalism. (Not classical, that is just a different view of eschatology, which is based on the Bible.)
But people living in the woods, gloom and doom, is simply not, and never has been the message of the gospel. True, Jesus is going to return some day. But not when we think things are bad, but in the timing the Father has set.
When I first got saved, people were giving me Hal Lindsay's books to read. I didn't know much about the Bible, so I accepted it as truth. Then, when I started really studying the bible, I realized that these books and movies (like Left Behind, too!) were fiction works, and about scaring people.
And it is fine to be scared reading a book or watching a movie. But, after, you need to come back to reality and work on your relationship with Christ, following him, and certainly being a witness to what Jesus has done.
So, no, even though the North Korean dictator is pretty scary, and yes, he has nuclear bombs, I still don't see it as a harbinger of WWIII to come.
