We had mummy's day today and a new family edition turned up.

Problem is I've had to fight mummy bear for the chocolate, its wasn't a fair fight as it
was two against one!

Suffice to say the bear won, that's the reason for the strange gloating smiley face.

Wowu,
they also go to the beach?!
Anywhere else in the world and that's a beach. But it was in New Jersey, so that's "the shore." lol

Many. When we were young, of course we thought they were apples as the Hi Joe's who came here passed on the legend to us. Didnt those who studied what the real fruit is said they were figs? But i think the figs we have here are different, and dont know either if edible.
What's the purpose of inedible figs?

Hi lynn,
That was a bit long i didnt have time long enough to reply other day. I never thought we were from an exotic place-- coz before, what i considered exotic was africa, even south america, but the usa was where reliatives lived since long ago, so it seemed 'near' and we also had apples here, not as much as we do now, but they were familiar like grapes even if not very often.

Potatoes on branches? I do not remember posting one such, but if u saw it, it may be someone else's post-). Here when we say garden, we often think of the small home garden like below. The large formal gardens in first world countries arent common here, and the 'larger' ones we have are probably the memorial gardens like Libingan ng mga Bayani, the Japanese Garden in Laguna, among others. There are also botanical gardens, not like urs of course, like the Mehan garden in Manila, and others around here.

The photo I remember wasn't potatoes, but they looked like potatoes on branches. You tyold me what they were and how they tasted, but it's similar to me telling you "we eat hoagies." Hoagies are common food around here, and yet even most of America doesn't know what a real hoagie is. (A national chain store sells hoagies, but they aren't really hoagies.) And since you still don't know what a hoagie is or what they taste like, it's unlikely you'll remember the word for too long.

As for the garden in your photo? The overall look isn't that far removed to what we'd call a garden, but I suspect the only plant I recognize is the beans in the front. The squat tree to the right is downright exotic to me. Biggest bonsai I've ever seen. I want one, (except, again, my yard is too small. lol)

oh Mar,

hubby and I just want to reach-out and grab a-hold of your precious Spirit,,,
but, you have a ways to go yet, little-one...it's all about Jesus priorities,,,
and NOT about a 'mere GARDEN, or what we 'think' it represents.,.
I bet you're pretty creative. You might make clothes, jams, decorations, or something else that says something of who you are. And you like it when someone notices how nice/good/cool it is, even if you didn't make it for that reason.

God made a universe. And it's not just gigantic, it's also so very detailed. There are two caves (that people know about) in the whole world that have this specific crystal growing in them. A beautiful crystal hidden underground. Looks like a Christmas tree decoration. This tells me God got all kinds of creative. Some things he planned on Man discovering. Others he didn't. He created a leech because he wanted to. Even if we find them hideous, God thinks they're cool. God thinks everything he makes is good or very good, and that's high praise from the only one who can do "perfect."

People get into different parts of God's creation. Some get into the stones. Some get into the sky. Others the oceans, etc. I get into plants. Gardens. I like the overall look of vastness, but also the minute detail of the tiniest flower that I can only see with a good camera or magnifying glass. But, yeah. I suspect it matters to God or he wouldn't have done it. :)

Miri,

let us both speak to 'big-bear' about it and see if He
can exert some kind of influence over her to 'drop-them'...

A few days
later, i still cannot recall what those ''potatoes'' you refer to are, or when and where those were posted. And yes, i never remembered hoagies in my mind until i read them again today.

Beautiful bonsai. I can only look and appreciate when i see in garden shows or others' private gardens, but i havent really taken care of that myself.

Lynn, if you're going THERE, at least invest in some fishing-gear'...
We've got fishing gear. We should probably throw it out because we can't go fishing anymore.

The closest i could think of is the purple yam, wc i do not remember posting about however. I cannot search a plant w/ 'fruit' just now. But the image at bottom is the air yam, a relative we also have.

just because you think that you and John can't fish anymore, and by the way,
if I have figured out a way to fish, then you all can tooo!!! - this, by-the-way,
by no means is any kind of reason that 'they' can't fish while you both watch!
really Lynn, where's your imagination?

Alas, I can't see the last picture. All I remember was a bunch of brown fruits/vegetables/something another hanging on the end of a bunch of thin branches. It looked like Irish Potatoes (also known as new potatoes because they didn't grow up all the way yet) growing like they're chives, but instead of flowers on top, they're potatoes on top.

Kind of the problem that we live in such different parts of the world. You think a mango is everyday food. To me it's exotic. (I can buy them in the store, but first, what I buy isn't what you consider a mango, and second, I have no idea how to pick out a ripe one. Last year, you suggested I try mango for something soft for hubby to eat. I bought one. Hard as a rock. A week later, still as hard as a rock. Now it's compost. lol) You'd probably consider a cheesesteak is exotic. In my part of America, that's dinner 1-2 nights a week for many people. And yet, people a mere 200 miles from me in my own country don't know what a real cheesesteak is.

And then there are foods we both think are normal, but because the other person has no idea what it is to ask, we can't show it. (I'm still trying to figure out what I think is everyday that you might never have heard of. Do you know what chicory is? Got to be something we eat that you don't know yet. lol)

I digress!

was hoping that you and John would be having a 'garage-sale' -
and maybe selling some 'Penn-Reels' and a few other goodies,
since you both are not really bona-fide-fishermen', cause,
they/we Never-quit -

oh well, I know for sure that 'neither-one' of 'THEM', can
'out-fish-me'...:)...hubby usually ONLY will really 'get-into-it',
IF they are 'REALLY-BITING', we're real different that way, as I
will, or I should say, that I would fish for and easy 6-7-8hrs. without
even a single 'BITE'...I know!

I was once written-up in a local paper for 'fishing in the coldest part of the year'...
did I catch anything? NO, but, I WAS THERE!!!
