ive just been told my whole life that getting a tattoo is against Gods word or something. but i dont know. im not going to hell if i get a cross on my arm or whatever, right?

Me... well I wouldn't get one because I dont feel it is right, but that doesnt mean it is a sin. Same with Drinking or Smoking. If it is not a sin to you then it is ok, but if it is a sin to someone else then they shouldnt do it.


God delivered my grandfather from alcohol so it would be a sin for him to go back... but to someone who likes to drink in moderation, then it is not a sin. Just depends on how you feel in your heart.

I don't know where it is, but I remember someplace seeing something about not marking your body. I would check on it first.

there's already soooo many threads on this. It's NOT a sin to get a tattoo. Look up the history on it. I have 4, might be getting another one for my birthday, God loves me all the same, it's not a sin, I've never been convicted. When you get a tattoo, it's no where near what they use to be. They use to cut their body open, pour ashes of the dead inside, and worship false gods. That's so not what a tattoo is. I respect the view and opinion of those that don't like or approve of tattoos, just hope they do the same in return. I've had others tell me I'll go to hell for them, well I'm sorry but no where in God's word does it say that. I'd just suggest praying about it, and looking up some history on the issue. God bless.

Tattoos, like other things aren't sins, even if some people think of them as sins, they're not.

Now, on whether they are wrong or not, that's different.

Indeed, but that's alright, cause see, I love God and them all the same I know where I'm going, so yay God! It's easier sometimes to point out what they don't like, agree with, and may consider a sin, so they don't have to do a self examination. They rather not pluck the plank from their own eye, and yeah...we aren't to appear as a hypocrite so we gotta make sure we look at our self, and that we're living according to God's word before we tell anyone else how to live, what to and not to do, etc. Just love them like Jesus, and it'll be fine. If a tattoo is the worst someone ever does, wow imagine how close to perfect they must be lol! Also, we'll receive a glorified body like Christ some day, so the physical body, which is flesh, and what sins, will not enter heaven. so therefore, tattoos won't be there anyways, cause it's on the flesh, not in the heart,spirit, or soul.Just some food for thought.
