Maybe you don't think they're being punished, but I suspect they live miserable lives.
The scriptures talk about God giving people over to the sinful desires of their hearts. While you can speculate they have miserable lives these people delight in wickedness including those with the power to punish their evil deeds. Not to mention those who serve Satan receive many of their fleshly desires, but at a high cost.

I've committed sin and it makes me feel miserable. Why should the people in Washington be any different?

Apparently you believe in Jesus; they don't. That's the difference.

Quote "The gospel is really vulgar, crass and immoral ..."

Sorry,I disagree with this. I get the "evangelist" speak but it could have been said a better way.The Gospel is not any of those things. People need to be careful how they are sharing a thought.
Surprised it took this long for someone to say that. From mans POV, I'd say it's spot on. It goes contrary to every concept of morality man holds to. Forgive sinners? While they are still sinners? Before they do anything at all to earn that forgiveness? How vulgar. How crass. How immoral.

As Utah stated you have faith in Christ not to mention im sure you care about God and don't want to hurt him. You listen to the conviction of the holy spirit. While people Washington most likely hate & despise God so they will not experience that same misery

I totally agree with you here...

"He forgave you before you repented. That’s crucial. See, that is why it is so outrageous. The gospel is really vulgar, crass and immoral because it says God forgives the world before it repents. In the gospel, repent is always repent and believe. It means turn yourself around from not trusting the forgiveness and trust it. That’s it. It doesn’t mean that you earn it by repenting. You had it before. " - Robert Farrar Capon

Capon was an Episcopalian Priest and was a very deceived universalist....Nowhere does it say that we have forgiveness before the Holy Spirit convicts of sin.

You are in deception if you adhere to Capon, his whole grace theology was universalist in nature and nowhere in the Bible does it say we have forgiveness before we repent...if that was true then people would not need the Holy Spirits conviction...

Romans 5.8 does not apply here, because God's love will carry you straight to hell...

I don't think not believing in Jesus makes life more pleasant. The enjoyment of sin is very fleeting.

But life without the Lord's guidance is most unpleasant. Sin destroys us - it doesn't make us happy.

Capon is great. And no he wasn't a universalist. Here's another that is positive about grace...

“Grace is the celebration of life, relentlessly hounding all the non-celebrants in the world. It is a floating, cosmic bash shouting it’s way through the streets of the universe, flinging the sweetness of its cassations (music) to every window, pounding at every door in a hilarity beyond all liking and happening, until the prodigals come out at last and dance, and the elder brothers finally take their fingers out of their ears.” - Robert Farrar Capon
