So I'm having a Beta testing of my card game in Merrill Wisconsin on Saturday at 3 at a card/coffee shop called The Goblin Workshop. I'm hoping a few of my friends will show up. The owner of the store posted it on their page and I sent the invite. Nothing really important thats why this is in the Miscellaneous section. If anyone is close to Merrill Wisconsin(I don't see why you would be) drop by and I'll teach you. I will be handing out demo decks so people can take it home with them.

obviously this is not a 'Christian' coffee-shop' with the name being 'the goblin workshop'...
is this a 'JOKE' or at least try and speak some 'Truth' and TELL what you are trying to do, motive~?!?...

definitely NOT good vibes!

Well I am not even close to Wisconsin, and the last time I played cards (poker) was years and years ago, but this sounds kind of cool. I'm guessing by the name of the coffee shop though that this is more like trading cards/MTG type stuff. I never learned to play MTG or any of the trading card type games, but I always thought the artwork looked cool. Pardon me if my assumption is wrong, but if it is right, you should show off some of your artwork. Hope you have fun at your demonstration either way.

Monnkai - DeviantArt most of my cards are posted on this art site (I entered this site a few years back when I was unsaved and did adult artwork) It turns out though they have a pretty big Christian community on it. I get a lot of support from them.

Sorry for the little delay, had to eat dinner and indulge my lazy hobby of watching Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy lol.

You are pretty good at art! I never been a great artist, never was good at proportions, but my little sister got the art talent. Heh makes me think of Dragon Ball Z meets MTG. Lol now you got me wanting to play around on Microsoft paint lol.

yeah I use paint lol I don't have enough talent to learn something like photoshop. I might someday to improve quality but for now It's still in the beta stage. I get them printed in black and white too because color is very expensive lol.

Well not my finest artwork, but you can steal the idea for your card game and re-draw it and make it look better if you want.

I wonder if you could hand-draw them and then either scan them or I guess just take a really close picture of them and then super impose that in paint somehow? Man now I am on an art kick. I am terrible with paint, but only mediocre at hand drawing stuff. I need to find a pen and some paper!

I could be wrong, but it sounds like he created a new card game. And is meeting at a coffee shop with others to test the game to see what changes need to be made. I think that because, well, that's exactly what he said.
Why does it not being a 'Christian coffee shop' make it so bad? Most Christians don't go to 'Christian coffee shops' to begin with. Why does creating a card game make it so suspicious? I see zero reason for anything you had to say or anything to be suspicious about. I hate coffee, and i'm not into those kind of card games, but that's preference, but i still see no reason to question motives. Seems you're being paranoid.

It does make for a kind of cool card idea though.

Goblin Coffee House Suspicion: Make your opponent reveal the first card on their deck and reshuffle or take a sip of coffee.

lol! It reminds me of the unhinged and unglued series in Magic. There was card that said you owe someone a soda. And another one that uses your own shoes as counters. both were joke sets. I really wish they'd make another.

I'd like to update this and say my card testing went well. I only had a close friend show up but we managed to test out the new cards and I am pleased with the results. I may do this again in the near future.

I read your thread, and I looked at your cards. I'm not into these types of card games (I'm kind of old, lol). But I did think about something, after reading Chokmahiel's cashew card. You are too young to remember, but maybe you have heard of the Garbage Pail kids? They were cards in the 1980s that mocked Cabbage Patch dolls. These cards were immensely popular and all the rage.

I was thinking that in the future, you might want to make meme cards (of course, you couldn't use existing photos or something copyrighted). It could be a funny game, and memes appeal to a very wide audience while Anime is kind of a niche.

Anyway, it is a thought. Best wishes to you on your endeavor, and I am very glad your testing went well.

Unfortunately I know about the Garbage Pail Kids. And by unfortunate I mean that terrible movie they made about it in the 80's lol I just watched a review on it not long ago. I knew about the garbage pail kids before that though. They seemed interesting for what they where. Thanks for your support! I'm getting all kinds of it for this game and I thank God for blessing me with so many supportive people. It's true that Anime is still a Niche, but not as much as it used to be. People are starting to understand that they cannot be confused with the cartoons you watch on saturday mornings. I'm hoping the books that I write can come into print before the card game does, so people will understand the characters more.

I used to love yu-gi-oh when I was a kid. That card game I liked and understood, never liked any other types of card games though, I tried looking at other card games, but just didn't get them or didn't like them.
