I'm normally not too big of a sports guy, but I have been watching the NBA playoffs for this year, and it is getting to be really exciting. I don't really know all the rules or big players outside of Cleveland and GS in basketball, but I like how competitive this year's playoffs are all around, very exciting to watch. Told myself as I was watching Game 3 of Cavs vs. Pacers that if Cleveland made a comeback I'd make this topic, and they did so here it is. Feel free to talk about anything related to NBA Playoffs, root for your favorite team, expound your vast knowledge of this all American sport, just have a little fun, and let us watch this very exciting tournament together.

I guess it be helpful too to include the NBA site link to track the playoff picture:

I both can and can't believe the Pacers lost tonight. It has been interesting though. I'm a Lakers fan, so I'm forced to pick other teams to root for lol. I really like the Wizards. A Washington vs. Cleveland Conference Finals would be awesome.

Heh, I did not even know there was a National Bible Association. Well supposing they have playoffs, I guess just like with the National Basketball Association playoffs that I will have to root for King James :)

I can believe it, the Cavs win by Belief! It was definitely an exciting game though. I am obviously a Cavs fan, but I like watching Golden State also. I am hoping for GS vs Cavs again in the Championship, and of course hope the Cavs will win. I just like the dynamic when both teams play, they play with a lot of heart and it's epic watching them go at it.

I was thinking it be Boston vs Cleveland for the conference, but from what I see the Celtics aren't doing so hot, so you might be right there. I don't really know anything about the teams outside of Cleveland and GS though, so I don't really know what is likely to happen, just guessing pretty much.

Makes me think though to everyone in general, since we're at the start, what's your guess on the fantasy bracket (if bracket is the wrong term, my apologies)?

Mine is:
(EDIT: well the did not show up like I expected it to. Will rework it and put in another post.)

Ok less sloppy looking fantasy playoff picture:

Round 1:

West:

GSW vs POR = GSW
LAC vs UTA = LAC

HOU vs OKC = HOU
SAS vs MEM = SAS

East:

BOS vs CHI = BOS
WAS vs ATL = WAS

TOR vs MIL = MIL (go Delly!)
CLE vs IND = CLE (go Cavs!)

Round 2:

West:

GSW vs LAC = GSW

HOU vs SAS = HOU

East:

BOS vs WAS = BOS

CLE vs MIL = CLE

Round 3:

GSW vs HOU = GSW

CLE vs BOS = CLE

Championship Golden State vs Cleveland epic rematch, Cavs pull out a David vs Goliath type victory against GSW superteam.

Last years playoffs was great however personally haven't been in to the nba at all this year. Lebron got Cleveland their ring as he promised. Not a Warrior fan personally think their overrated so it was classic when they choked in the finals. Waiting on the NFL season.

Yea I was not big on NBA either until the first GSW vs Cavs Championship two years a go. I watched it and got sucked right in. I love how they play with such passion. Then last year of course was very epic, 7 game series and Cleveland won. I don't think GSW are overrated, they are definitely a class act, I can't think of a better rival to play against for the championship.

I used to be bigger on baseball and football, but there's so many scandals anymore I just lost interest. I like how the NBA is run right now, it's more about who plays with the most heart rather than wasting time on who has the biggest roided out muscles, who hits the other guy hardest, who can deflate the ball the best, etc. lol.

For me personally, I believe the nba was at it's best in 80's ~ 90's rules were different and it was played more physical. Not to mention trash talking was allowed. Nowadays every little thing is a foul and a technical lol... It's interesting you mention heart, with all the flopping and jacking up 3's all game it's hard to tell at times who has it.

I was too young in the 90s to really get into NBA, but I remember watching Michael Jordan's Bulls vs Carl (Karl?) Malone's Utah Jazz, good stuff.

I think I like the NBA much more now than then. What I mean by a lot of heart is like between GSW and Cavs they're so competitive, the matches are close. You can tell they're both trying very hard to win, not at all rigged. I think both teams and others have a lot of heart. Just watching Indiana, don't' really know anything about them, but I can see by the way they play that they have a lot of heart even though they lost.

dude, NO. if it comes to the Rockets and the Spurs (probably will), the Rockets are toast! ;)

i remember 90s NBA. Stockton and Malone, hated the Bulls (it was mandatory as a Knicks fan)
loved that John Stockton refused to bow to Jordan's long shorts fashion trend...
remember Muggsy Bogues?

i think the playoffs and finals always have increased intensity in play.
in the 90s it was all over by now. lol

Heh I don't remember any of those except for Malone and Michael Jordan. I liked Michael Jordan, he was a good player, but I was probably too young to really get into him, that was all around when I was like 7 or 8 years old.

Well I am just guessing with Houston and SAS, I really don't know anything about them. I know a lot of my friends claim SAS are really good. I saw Houston play one game a few nights a go and they seemed pretty good which is why I guess as I have, I think they will upset the SAS. Don't take it as canon or anything though lol, it's all just my amateur guesses lol. A good example is that I thought Boston would be winning handily and it seems they are struggling against Chicago.

It's definitely interesting to watch the playoffs this year though. I have found myself watching some of the other games outside of the Cavs; gotta spy on GS, and even enjoyed watching some of the other teams' match ups. It seems like a very competitive year this year, all the teams seem to be playing with a lot of heart, but again I am no basketball expert.

You're probably right that it will be those two teams lol, but my bracket was Washington vs. San Antonio in the Finals.

Haha love Stockton. The 90s were great. The earliest I remember watching was the '92 Dream Team(yeah I've been watching since I was little lol). Bulls vs. SuperSonics in the '96 Finals is still my favorite series. Chicago was always entertaining though, especially seeing what stunts Rodman would try to pull lol.

Their intros were so cool:

Woot, Cavs just won a close Game 4 against the Indiana Pacers and will be advancing to the next round of the play-offs! Elsewhere in the play-off picture GS won last night and is leading 3-0 against Portland. The rest of the match-ups are all pretty close.
