It appears I brought to much passion in my delivery. I'm in search for an answer to a life event I'm currently in. A co-worker that I've known for more than 5 years began to reveal his faith. He was quoting from a book he was reading that there are different ways to enter the gates of heaven. He is also expressing some other things about God that I find troubling. I don't feel this person would respect my opinion about Jesus being the only way to our Father in heaven. He professes to be Christian but some of his words do not show that. I've heard him talk about God, Jesus, the Bible and church.

Is it wrong for me to yell Stop!! if I see my daughter chase her ball heading for a busy street? Would someone say I hate my daughter because I yelled at her or that I love her because I yelled?

I guess for one reading this post who believes there are other ways to heaven will say that I'm mean and hateful for yelling. If one believes Jesus is the only way is it wrong to warn nonbelievers to Stop!! ?

Help! I wish none should perish.

Yes,GOD had mercy on us and made a way for us to have Eternal Life making the spirits of just men perfect and we should present our bodies a living sacrifice which Is reasonable but the only thing about a living sacrifice Is that It keeps crawling off the alter.
Well said.

If you see me trying to crawl off the alter would you please yell Stop. I don't want to perish.

Thanks for the visual. I can see.

Lets say a Christian speaker is becoming popular for their teachings, and their teachings include acceptance for sexual immorality. We all know that we are to avoid sexual immorality, but this speaker finds ways to twist scripture in order to make it appear fine.

How do you deal with it?

Do you tell them that you love them? Thats good, but it wont change anything.

You will have to debate with them.

And you probly wont change their mind, no. But its not about them, its about the other Christians who are listening, trying to seek the truth.

We shouldnt turn to insults and slander, but its not wrong to debate with someone if what they are teaching is wrong. Didnt Jesus do this very thing?
You cant talk to ones that wont listen, even when people leave they carry on trying to prove there point, but anyway in time things change I see that now.

Yes,GOD had mercy on us and made a way for us to have Eternal Life making the spirits of just men perfect and we should present our bodies a living sacrifice which Is reasonable but the only thing about a living sacrifice Is that It keeps crawling off the alter.
The noteworthy part of the a patience of God is that we grow closer and closer and closer toward God, never needing to pause and stagnate, never needing to turn away and go back down a hill with no ground to it. If I offer myself as a living sacrifice holy and pleasing to God and if God is for me enabling no one and no other outside influence to have power against Him in me, the fact a man gifted with innocence and liberty can and will honor God's will in His timing of patiently going alongside us filling in what we lack. This is a relationship of love which always must grow onward and upward by way of the alter of surrender, and by way of the alter of continuous prayer. It shouldn't be seen as surprise that this is so, nor should it be seen necessary to ever crawl off the alter, but rather, that we crawl ever so much closer to God day-by-day thru it and because of it.

"God is able to make all grace abound unto you..." (2 Corinthians 9:8).

In talking to people you will be amazed to find that they much more readily listen if you talk on the line of suffering, of the attacks of the devil; but get on the triumphant line of the Apostle Paul, talk about the supernatural-normalcy of a conquering life, about God making all His Divine grace to abound, and they lose interest - "This is all in the clouds," they would claim, a sheer indication that they have never begun to taste the unfathomable joy that is awaiting them if they will only claim it and take it.

Let's take a moment to look at your verse in 2 Timothy.

The verse in 2Timothy2:23 PRESUPPOSES several things when it tells Timothy to avoid "foolish controversies."

A. It presupposes there is a distinction between "foolish controversies" and "not foolish controversies".

B. It presupposes Timothy is able to make this distinction.

C. It presupposes, by ONLY prohibiting "foolish controversies", that any controversy which is "important" or "not foolish" would be fine to discuss.

Christians certainly need to discuss controversies more politely.

But the bible doesn't really tell us to avoid doctrinal discussion or even doctrinal debate.
* In the flesh He certainly restricts us; and as we walk in the spirit (only) - now we do it to spur us on toward love and good deeds in the wisdom and admonition of the Lord. Knowledge of the truth starts with the fear of the Lord. This is the beginning place of knowledge. We are bondservants to righteousness; the life bearing life with a chain of command which leads us to truth and life, and thus is the New man's Way. We must understand the absolution of both our death to the Old man, and that our New life in Christ means (ALL) old things are gone, and all things in the New life are new in Spirit guiding spirit. This is a forever understanding of your life in Christ. We are to exhort and encourage in our discussions - yes, but always, and only, in the spirit and admonition of the Lord, in love.
