I was playing softball up until mid to late 40's... I did notice that it took longer to "recover" after strenuous exercise, but it wasn't bad.

Now that I'm in my early 60's, I can testify that your body DOES slow down... joints get more painful, etc.

I really think that it is mainly due to a sedentary lifestyle. I get off work, get home, decide I'm too tired to "do" anything, so I sit and relax. After enough months of that, it's difficult to do anything at all.

Like Willie said, just move, every chance you get.... doesn't have to be strenuous stuff, just flexibility stuff.

Over all, life is good. I'm blessed beyond what I deserve.

I have always had postions that required a lot of exercising. Unfortunately the work has been so stressful that I have picked up some bad habits as well.

She has trouble getting up to high places. I have trouble getting to low places.. lol
Plank? That requires more space, but can you find a space where it can raise and you can plank it, so she can get that high?

(I fell in love with my cat two seconds after seeing him, so can't imagine having to give him up because my body is a nuisance. And my body is a nuisance often.)

I think of Paul and his thorn in his flesh. We never read what exactly that was but we know it was a burden for him, yet we also know he did the work of many men still. Now that shows me God does care about our physical bodies as well and manifests Himself in doing, for man, what a God of supernatural support in our lives would naturally do for us as His Children.

My story is interesting even to me; I fell 28 feet off a ladder in 2010; I fell off a twelve foot ladder on a gym floor that was the second floor of that school so I fell over the stair well and landed on the lower floors stair. Yeah Ouch right? Definitely an Ouch moment!!

I was told I may never walk, that my shattered right hand would never be able to grasp properly etc etc.; my ankle tendons had snapped all of them except my Achilles tendon, which was stretched out like a rubber band, but because of that I was able to let the surgeries still give me hope. God did a miracle with my physical body!

I went thru many surgeries and many therapies, yet i prayed to my God for healing, I literally asked, and looked for, and knocked for answers all the while I was working hard to recover. And yet I was only getting a little better. Minutely better. God wrought me out in this journey and He and I got so closer than ever. Now, I had a choice in that, I could have gotten more distant from Him, because I had every logical reason to do so, but I simply said, ok God,"Not my will but thy will be done." And I surrendered my goals to Him....

Immediately after that My slow recovery became a miraculous recovery. Not only can I walk but I can run. I have repaired to a point that I fit in perfectly with the human race again. Even my 5 doctors said they couldn't believe the recovery. I have scars from my wrist surgeries, but I just call it my badge of courage. God even allowed it to be a workman's comp case and all my costs were covered - medically.

So I am back in society just livin' the spirit-filled life, once more. I've just turned 55, and I have a soar back still and some nerve damage in my legs, but they don't slow me down anymore. Its been a miracle, so I have to share God's glory with others on that score...:) Smile. Trusting in God, means He is our care-taker and we are to respond to Him as He clearly outlines His purposes and intentions in my life, and I just immediately say yes and do it, even when it sometimes sucks to do it, but even then He changes my perspective on it and I end up seeing it His way.. He is a Spirit with limitless power, if a bird get's his needs met, how much more will He not ignore and supernaturally involve His resources when you ask for help as His beloved Children in Christ Jesus.?

Go ahead and buy a sports car if you need to experience a mid-life crisis, who cares - but, trust me, it it is a waste of time ......God has your back, literally! You have His Word on it! Smile. Rest in the Lord, and let His peace, and His joy be your compass, and your strength. Amen (Let it be so)....

That's som testimony! I am not experiencing any midlife crises. I am actually at peace with myself and my life. I owe that all to God of course.

planks? seems like they could be good/help, 'if' the CAT doesn't weigh 25#+, cause then, they can't 'jump-UP'!

we, hub and I, have 'pledged' to NEVER 'let/allow' any of our 'CATS', to exceed the acceptable feline#age, in
order to be considered 'NORMAL/acceptable', in this present-world... - we raise them as free-feeders, and
so they don't tend to be as neurotic as most tame house cats can be, and they don't seem to have a desire to
want 'over-indulge-in-their-food', they are just feeding themselves by their natural-hunger...
amazing, isn't it?!?!?!:)

I've always done that with my cat's too. All 3 are a healthy weight. My two boys, (brothers) are long legged and kind of big, not fat big, just big. My girl cat is a petite little lady.
