Hebrews 12:2
"In all your ways submit to him, and he will make your path straight."
WHAT PATH ARE YOU ON?
You can choose many paths and directions for your life. Some are good choices and then some are obviously wrong and will take you down a destructive path.
Have you ever followed down a wrong path? Have you found yourself wondering, What am I doing here? I didn’t want my life to be about this. I had bigger and better dreams.
If that’s happened to you, as it has happened to me, then you’re ready for God's way of righteousness.
Seeking God’s way for answers is the first step to getting off the wrong path and back into a way of living that God can bless. The Bible says, “There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death” (Proverbs 14:12). That’s not a road you want to choose for your life. Instead, “In all your ways submit to him and he will make your paths straight” (Proverbs 3:6).
God wants you on a right path that leads to joy, peace, and blessing. Psalm 37:23 says, “The steps of a man are established by the Lord when he (God) delights in his way.”
This is an amazing truth! God Himself establishes the path of the righteous person.
Isn’t it encouraging to know God will guide your steps? As you submit to Him, the hand of God will direct you to the right way. It might not be a way you’d choose, it may not look like someone else's way, but it will be the right path for you. His directing presence will lead you “in the way of righteousness, in the paths of justice.” Your part is to listen to His Word and respond to His leading.
“Heavenly Father, I believe You have a path of righteousness planned for me. I want to take every step on it! Alert me and bring me back when I stray beyond Your leading and help. In Jesus Name. Amen
Let God Decide What Path is Best for You.

Easy to say, but what about those of us who don't "literally" hear God's voice?
What if you pray and pray but don't get (or at least don't see) any "hint" neither for nor against a decision?
How do you then know what to change and what to keep on doing? (Sometimes the choice isn't obvious)

KJVJob23;10-12 10.But he knoweth the way that I take:when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold.11. My foot hath held his steps, his way have I kept, and not declined. 12. Neither have I gone back from the commandment of his lips, I have esteemed the words of his mouth more than my necessary food.

Its all by faith.

With faith in Christ you can trust that He is guiding your steps and your will so that even your desires are His desire for you.

Great advice,I have a different outlook on God's advice and I can be wrong about this when I say that when the correct path isn't clear He wants us to research, educate ourselves so that we are aware of absolutely every option in choosing the correct path.

Seeking guidance is great but you gotta figure that as pertains to this subject the outcome is all on the individual because it is their soul, they will be judged all by themselves,I don't think that God will let us say "so and so said this and they said that they know what they are talking about" I think that God will say that it's in the individuals best interest to learn for themselves.

Also education betters us and I think that God wants that for us as a species.
