I posted this as a blog, but no one shared any stories, so I'm posting here in hopes of getting some participation. I think it's so encouraging to share about answered prayers and other things God has done in our lives.

Here's the post:

I'd like to hear your stories -
Would you share a time or two that God has come through for you in a surprising way?
I'll share one:
Maybe a year ago, I was driving when a thought randomly came to me to pray about parking, so I prayed for God to show me where to park. I sensed I needed to turn into a certain parking lot. Immediately after I parked and got out, a man said, "need a ticket?"
I turned. He said he'd paid for more time than he needed, and that I could use the rest of his parking time, which saved me money.
As I took the parking voucher, I looked up and saw that his baseball cap had "Jesus" written on the front! :)
This encouragement, which I believe was from God, made my day and more. It also reminded me that He cares about the details and the "little things" of life.

Ok there are so very many times God has been my help....i was a single mom for 17 years, working and taking care of my son...well the rent was behind and we were about ready to loose our home .....i got a hold of a local agency for help. The lady said they did not have funds available at that time and told be to have a seat in the waiting room .....there was a woman that came in, i think she was a believer in Christ and i was letting her know how good God is .....well the lady at the office called this gal in and closed the door ....sure i was wondering how this was all going to work out but i had faith God would see me through....guess what the 2 women came out together smiling at me, as the one woman left .....the other lady called me in her office ...saying we have come into money now for you and we can help with your foreclosure payments ....see how God is and we were able to stay in our home because God put it on this woman heart at the right time and place to meet our needs Glory to God for His love and goodness.....Love in Christ Sherril.....

I would have to apply that to my entire life. Growing up in the middle of nowhere
in the mountains of western Canada in a small community of about a hundred people
who were not Christians, I had no way of knowing God. I was the youngest and not
old enough to got to a one room school there and i didn't know the English language
anyway I was on my own except for my large dog. In the warmer weather, I would
walk around the community with Him being my protector. We'd stop and I would sit
on a rock or stump and he would sit at my side dutifully aware of all things happening.
There was no traffic, so hustle or bustle, just the soft whistle of the wind in the pines.
My mind would wander and I often sensed that there was something I couldn't explain
yet I felt withing me that there was some sort of a being surrounding me. In time as
the community broke up and we moved to a small town as I came to school age and
started to learn the language I started hearing the word God and Jesus and Christ and
I sensed a Spirit then and then it took me back to those quiet younger days. Without
any study and just hearing about God, I came to want to know Him more. I felt that
He was always near. I believed in Him from my experiences but stayed at that level
and hadn't fully accepted His Spirit until I was in mid life. At that time, I felt there was
something missing in my life, but what. I hadn't been in a church and really I wasn't
aware of His love and power. Then some people moved next door and we became
friends. So talking one day they asked me if i wanted to come to church. I was a bit
apprehensive not ever really thinking about churches. So my friend said well why don't
you come with me to a bible study that is starting next week. He gave me a bible and
I went. It wasn't long at all and i was hooked. The rest is history, I have never felt alone
since then. And He is within me forever. But the largest miracle of my life is my heart
story which anyone can visit on my blog here. If not for God I am truly convinced I would
not be here today. God bless you Rosy.

What beautiful stories. Thank you for sharing, Sherrill and Dusty! It's amazing how God helps us and draws us to Himself.
