Relocate the snake eggs FAR FAR away. NO the cat can't eat them!! Not unless you want a dead cat. :/

Snake eggs are leathery. (Very likely what you have there, if the shell isn't fragile.)

I don't know if a cat can eat snake eggs, but I know snakes can eat cats.

Was the cardboard inside? If so, I doubt it's a moccasin. (They like water too much to go that far away from it.) But if it is a snake inside your house, it's time to call animal control, if you don't want it to be killed. Pest control, if you do. I don't know where you live in the US, but copperheads and rattlesnakes are almost everywhere. That's a problem for your cats even more so than for you.

Interesting though, since that's an odd place for a snake to lay eggs. (Then again, I'm picturing an old box next to boxes of stuff stored in the garage, basement, or crawl space.)

Was outside (cardboard)by myburn barrel near our ditch. My wife wouldn't wait she had me bust them with a 2x2 ,4ft long ,got egg juice all over my clothes which she wanted to wash so fast she got caught in it and fell to the floor hip, knee and wrist all at once ,now shes spending the evening on the couch with the icepack i gave her. Now,shes near grounded an i have a mess outside so i left amd got some moth balls(napthalene) to throw around the yard.It suppose to keep them away-agrivates there eyes!
Thanks for the help all.
