No prosperity BS or feel good sermons. It's all about suffering and getting through suffering with Jesus.

It's all about suffering and getting through suffering with Jesus.
Well, if you believe what Jesus suffered was not enough and you need to suffer to atone for something... just take a hammer and beats your hand bloody on the kitchen counter, and... you'll be suffering from ignorance of what God's Word actually says!

The suffering Christians are called to is putting up with the opposition to the Gospel while walking in LOve still trying to win them to Jesus.

It's not suffering with cancer, or being homeless or anything like that as the Lord has provided for His people in the Atonement. Next time folsk get sick, they should NOT try to get better in anyway since they believe it's God's will for them to suffer... to do so is to go against what you believe is the will of God.

That's in the religious ditch opposite the uber prosperity people to say we all supposed to get sick, be broke, depressed, etc for Jesus.

Isaiah 53:4, 5
Jesus has carried our grief (pain, anxiety, calamity, disease, sickness), and carried our sorrows (anguish, affliction, feelings of pain, sadness and sorrow): yet we did esteem Him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted....but He was wounded (to wound, to break, be slain or killed) for our transgressions, He was bruised (crush, destroy, oppress, to collapse) for our iniquities: the punishment (violence, rebuke) of our peace was upon Him; and with His stripes we are healed. (He took our wounds, so we could take his wholeness & health in every area of life)

Brutha stanleys probably went to seminary so he wouldn't know anything 'bout what Isaiah 53 be talkin 'bout... and neither would a growing majority of preachers.

Why not simply believe what God said in His Word???

I'm not the one claiming Jesus did not suffer enough in my behalf and that I need to suffer to be right with God...

OK, normally the post would say something 'bout the other guy.

I wasn't trying to sound mean er nuthin, but some of these folks that teach the religious stuff need someone to be a little rude to them like Jesus was a little rude to some religious folks.

Then ,we got folks these days in the ditch on other side teaching seemingly that life is all about having lots of money and stuff here on earth and living the high life (maybe some of them on the wacky tobaccy) and that ain't it either as we will have problems in this life.

But, the Lord desires for us to deal wisely in all the affairs of life and the Lord will lead us out of affliction to victory in this life if we pay attention to His Word and actually DO His Word...

Psalm 34:19

Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all

Psalms 91:1-16
He that dwells in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty....I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in Him will I trust....because he hath set his love upon Me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he has known My Name....he shall call upon Me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honor him....with long life will I satisfy him, and show him my salvation (deliverance).

Maybe suffering was a harsh word. We're aren't here on this earth to have fun; we're here to become eternal. Our bodies and our environment are the Lords workbench to test us and bring us strength, through: pain, disease, debt, loss, and many other afflictions. If a person isn't struggling, then they aren't learning to function in eternity and is in one of those ditches.
