Why the hate for feminists here?
Lol, not hate. I just am not a feminist. I don't like the feminist world view and want to share songs that would never get air time nowadays. Like this classic by Tom Jones.

This is my kind of man.

It was a question. I certainly did not mean to insult you,
Oh, it was a "question."

Nice try, but asking a male if he is a feminist is designed to be an insult. That was your intention.

Quite the feminist tactic on your part. That you can't own that is telling. That you claim you didn't mean to brings your intent to insult up another notch.

Feminism in the sense of equality of opportunity for women in the workplace and in society is a good thing. Feminism in the sense of male-bashing, illogical rants and grossly-unbalanced statistics is a bad thing. Sadly, the latter gets most of the press.

Actually, there are many men who identify as feminists. It doesn't need to be interpreted as insulting. :)

Lol, I am not the one dissing Tammy Wynette's "Stand by Your Man". My intention was ascertaining what your world view is to try to understand why you dislike "Stand by Your Man" and think the lyrics are depressing.

Anti-feminist is not my genre.
Rap is not my genre. I don't know for a fact, but I would suspect there are militant feminists who listen to songs like the one you mentioned. But, since that is not my milieu, I could not say for sure. I don't know of any militant feminists who protest rap music, but I know of many who protest against such asinine things as man spreading and man splaining.

This isn't the BDF, not everything is an insult.

Okay, here's my view on feminism.

I really never thought about. I actually don't care. As far as I am concerned, male's and females are equal. Now, if I ever came into contact with "yeah yeah you a woman so ya cant do this" nonsense, I would ask for a better reason. now, there are also some woman who take this crap WAY to seriously. Like those who parade around their underwear. I cant respect people like that, and I can see why men don't. A feminist who fights in the army, or does it in a RESPECTABLE way, I will respect.

Like the women's rights suffrages of the twenties. You didn't see them parading in their underwear.

Well, there was the "no bra" day.... But they still had shirts on.

Here's the problem I have with militant feminists. They whine and complain about things not being "equal" here- when they really are. Then they want to go on ridiculous crusades against man spreading and foolishness like that. I would actually respect feminists if they were working to end enforced abortion in developing countries, female mutilation, spoke out against Islam and how evil it is toward women, helping to rescue female sex slaves. These would be worthwhile pursuits.

Instead, most of them are hell bent on emasculating men and decrying women who want to be traditional and take on a traditional role in marriage and family. I scanned an article today about a feminist writer who posited that it "should be illegal for women to stay at home" after their children are school age. What nonsense.

There's a huge backlash of conservative women saying "we are not feminists and we do not agree with the feminist agenda".

That's a GORGEOUS song. I remember seeing a piece on a news show, saying feminists hate this song. I was like, What? This is a beautiful song. Thanks for posting it. I'm posting it again. :)

I never heard the Glenn Campbell one, thanks. I saw this one posted earlier on a different thread. I always thought of this as a Ruth song. :

Thanks for the repost. I don't know why it
didn't post correctly.

Probably so, this is a beautiful song. That's okay, about posting it as a link. I just wanted to post it as a clip in case younger people want to hear it who had never heard it before. I feel like I am old in spirit, certainly in taste. I listen to old music, read old books, like old movies. Here's another one I thought about as being anti-feminist and pro-traditional:

I know it is Bobby Darin's song, but I like Cash and Carter singing it together.

Good one!!!

Yeah, when I was your age I love the old classic movies and older books. I even bought some books just because they're old. :)

I brought my kids up on old classic movies and they still love them. No one else in there age group knew what an old classic movie was. Hee hee!!!

Thanks, I'd never heard this one before. I buy old books, simply because they are old, too. We did not have cable or satellite when we were kids, so rented movies from the library. They were always old and those became what we liked. I doubt very many people my age or younger know these old songs or movies.

Here's a good one:
