My uncle gave ever family member a nickname. More than one, if he could. I'm Lynnie the Loop. One of my brothers is Dan, Dan the Mountain Man.

His daughter should have known this about him when picking names for her sons, but she chose Whitney for one of her sons anyway. Whit, for short.

When Whit was a baby, Uncle tried out Half Whit, Nit Whit, Whitty, Whitless, Whit N' Post.

I never did learn what Whit's forever-nickname is, but let this be a lesson for anyone picking out a name for their child. Really think it out, because somewhere along the way there will be a nickname that sticks.

Singed,
The Loop! lol

I have had only one nickname in my entire life. Wait! two, one that I'd rather forget! my family simply doesn't do nicknames, or even shorten our full names very often. If you're Daniel, you're Daniel, not Dan or Danny. The only nickname I've had is from a friend, and as far as I know he's the only one who's ever called me that.

Why Nickles? Cuz he had a bunch of nickles in his car. And I like the word nickles : p So yap, thats his name now : p
He liked it, haha.

I had the nickname of JJ at one time because it's my initials. People used to call me by my last name a lot too. All that was years and years ago though. I don't have a nickname anymore.

My name is Kelly, too- but I only had one bully boy in Kindergarten call me Jelly Kelly. :) I cried and another boy punched him in the stomach. Lol, so that was the end of that. I live in the South and nicknames are par for the course. I think everyone here has a few. Some of mine were: Bones (long story), McCool (another long story), Peepers, Babydoll, and Kelly-girl.

*shrugs*

I went to a festival (in Norway) once where some of the people I was camping with were English- speakers, so I ended up asking them to call me Ashley. At least they'd be able to pronounce it :p

My nickname is Chicky. My mom used to call me her little chick when I was a baby, so it stuck. And of course you have all of the variations that come with it: Chick-a-dee, Chicklett, Chickmeister, Chicka Chicka Boom Boom, Chiquita Banana etc. Trust me, it's a whole thing lol
