"When you allow the inspiration of other people's faith to guide you, they blind you to your own. God gave to each of us a measure of faith. We can't keep our lanterns lit on someone else's oil. We have to have our own."

That's exactly how I feel.

That why I think that people that didn't have absolute faith in God teachin? throughout live in hope that someone would along at the end to get them into Heaven with some magic, were deceived.

God say that deception is a tool of the dark side.

I believe Him when He say that, it's sad that a lot of folk don't.

Increase our faith in Him is one of our greatest needs today, Luke records the disciples asking Jesus to "Increase our faith"(KJV)Luke17:5 5. And the apostles said unto the Lord, Increase our faith.,We can increase our faith by reading and hearing the Word of God (KJV)Romans10:17 17. So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God.

Romans 12:3 - For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith.

1 Corinthians 12:9 - to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healings by the same Spirit.

God has granted a differing measure of faith to His children. I don't see this as faith that all Christians have in Christ, since Paul implies that some in the body have it and others don't. *I see it as a special endowment of faith to accomplish certain tasks in ministry.

Hi Rena,

I'm not really understanding what you're saying here.

We all are a part of the body of Christ and we are to use our gifting to edify one another. Whatever our gifting is, we use it to inspire others in the church. That doesn't blind you to whatever inspiration you come to by the Holy Spirit working in you.

The oil is the Holy Spirit. It's not my oil vs your oil. We all learn, grow and are inspired through the Holy Spirit's power working within each and every one of us.

Faith is a seven in list of the fruit of Holy Spirit (KJV)Galatians5:22-23 22.But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23.Meekness, temperance;against such there is no law.,First Corinthians12;8-11 refer to faith as a gift of the Holy Spirit 8. For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit;9. To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gift of healing by the same Spirit;10.To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongue; 11.But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will.;The gifts of Holy Spirit (including faith) given to believers not to non believers to bild up the Church in her confidence in God.

This may be true, though I believe God also can speak through people to other people, if that isn't true then why do People talk about God to other people.

We can ask Jesus to pray for our faith as he did for Simon KJVLuke22;31-32 31.And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat: 32. But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.
