What do you say to him?

i ask because I have heard countless sermons talking about how the Holy Spirit is often neglected in our prayers
and he doesn't get much attention or communication from the average Christian

i think I always speak to God And that's it

I believe God is the Holy Spirit, and I try to pray constantly, like Paul taught us (1 Thess 5:17).

Well God,Jesus, and the holy spirit are one,it's more of the holy spirit speaks to us,because he is known as the comforter, because he brings to mind things of comforting in times of mourning, also he can help you understand the bible, when you speak to one you speak to all,for all three are one!

no matter which of the three I speak to I ask them to strengthen me,guide me,and help me to understand God's word and tell me what to say when trying to teach others about the bible,God,Jesus, the holy spirit, and when I'm teaching others about how to be saved and baptized,I may not have tons of diplomas but,I have the holy spirit that teaches what to say by bringing to reminder scriptures from the bible, that is the other use of the holy spirit!!

The Holy Spirit is neither God or Jesus. God sent the Holy Spirit to Jesus when he was baptized in the Jordan river by John the Baptist and it descended on him like a dove so the HS is not God..

And Jesus sent the HS to the disciples during pentecost and it came to them like flames of fire so its not Jesus either..

if you believe this it is fine, for those who read the bible "physically" believe the same, those who read the bible alongside the holy spirit,"spiritually" simply have learned otherwise!

Hi Faith,

I pray to God in the name of Jesus through the power of the Holy Spirit. Jesus told us to pray to the Father.

But there are examples where some cried out to Jesus like Stephen when he was being stoned. But He looked up to heaven and saw Jesus and said, "Lord Jesus receive my spirit."

All three are God and when we pray to God, we're actually praying to the triune God.It does seem that there's a pattern in prayer, a uniformity in prayer. Jesus prayed to the Father.

I think the lack of attention to the Holy Spirit is purposeful. Jesus said that the Holy Spirit does not speak on His own.

John 16:12-15 I have many more things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth; for He will not speak on His own initiative, but whatever He hears, He will speak; and He will disclose to you what is to come. He will glorify Me, for He will take of Mine and will disclose it to you. All things that the Father has are Mine; therefore I said that He takes of Mine and will disclose it to you.

So the Holy Spirit only speaks what He hears. His job is to glorify Jesus and to take what is His and disclose it to us. So He purposely doesn't draw attention to Himself. If someone said like, "come Holy Spirit," I wouldn't say it's wrong. It's just the focus of prayer throughout the scriptures in to the Father in he name of His Son through the power of the Holy Spirit. So that's how I pray. :)
