Uh... I'm trying to remember. McGyver?
Oh man, I remember having a major crush on him. :p

It was about ten years later that I first heard about Stargate, but it was just sooo wrong to see RDA as anyone else than MacGyver

I didnt think the ending to Lost was all that bad. I seem to be the only person who didnt mind the ending, though.

Most of my favorite shows are animated, cuz I tend to like that kinda stuff I guess. Some of my favorites are Home Movies, Hey Arnold, Gravity Falls, Bobs Burgers, and there was a cartoon called Whatever Happened to Robot Jones?, but I seem to be the only person who remembers it. Anywho I really liked that one, too.

I dont think I have as many non- animated shows. Watching tv with my mom, though, I got into some sci fi shows like Star Trek, and I really liked Next Generation and Deep Space 9. I loved Lost, it was great.

Right now my friend is watching a tv show based on the American Revolution, think its called Turn. Ive been wanting to check that out.

I dunno, I dont really watch too many tv shows : p My family always wants to watch like really intense tv shows about crime and murder and that kinda stuff, it wears me out sometimes. They usually own the tv so its rare that I ever get to watch anything I want to watch. I feel like theres enough intense stuff to deal with in the world already, so when I wanna watch tv its usually something more light hearted : p

Turn is an okay show. Cool characters.

I think everybody expected you to say Hey Arnold. I hear they are giving it a re-boot!

My sister told me. She's usually reliable.

I havent heard whether or not that its definite about the reboot, last I heard, its a possibility. But theyre definitely doing the movie : p Nov 23 I hear. It will be a two part movie which Im guessing means the 23rd and 24th : p

Its supposed to be like an ending to the series too, as it never had its ending. The movie that came out in theaters (titled Hey Arnold the movie) was supposed to be a cable tv movie, and the one they are doing now was meant to be in theaters as the ending, but due to the show creator pitching ideas for a show with other networks, Nick decided not to let him do his film.

But luckily, fans gathered enough signatures for a petition and now theyre doing the movie, like 13 years later : p Am excited.

A few of my favorites:

Lost
The Munsters
MST3K
Star Trek TNG (none of the others, really)
Battlestar Galactica (the 2000's version)
Downton Abbey (Seasons 1 and 2)
Black Books
The IT Crowd
Blue Bloods
Gotham
The Man in the High Castle
BSG is the greatest of all time.
Have you checked out the new MST3K? I'm a purist, but it's not bad.

My personal favorite shows is comprised of 90's cartoons and sitcoms. There's no show really nowadays that has caught my interest to watch regularly. However if anyone is in to cartoons i would recommend one called "The grim adventures of billy and mandy". Its one of my alltime favs and has adult humor as well to satisfy all ages.

I'd like to see another BSG series covering a few generations after the landing.

And yes! I've seen the new MST3k. It was better than I expected. I honestly thought it would be lame.

I only watch one current TV show, and we all sarcastically call it "chick flick" so I can't for the life of me remember what the real title is! lol. I think of it eventually.
"When Calls the Heart" on Hallmark. It's...ok, best in very small quantities :).

One show I quit watching was Downton Abbey. The first two seasons were absolutely fantastic. Then it just ran out of gas. It stopped being historically immersive and became a combination of a soap opera and a progressive morality tale in which the characters were fundamentally and implausibly altered to suit a narrative palatable to modern people.

I mean at least the show Vikings never shied away from the fact that Ragnar Lodbrock was a Viking, not a social justice activist or closet Christian.
My daughter lost interest in Downton also :( She blames Mary's indiscretions for her disenchantment with the series as a whole :p I really liked it, and have watched it a few times. Period pieces in general, as long as they do not crawl, I find really very charming. I love many of the productions of Jane Austen's work. Galatea got me going on quite a streak of those after we got to talking about all things Jane in one of her threads on Dickens from last Christmas :D I started with Persuasion, which I watched first: the BBC production, and then the movie, and then I read the book, because I was not that familiar with the story, and I wanted to compare the differences. Haha. Tinuviel joined us in our discussions of who was the best Darcy, and who the best couple was. Sense and Sensibility and Pride and Prejudice... how can anything compare?

I do really like watching historical dramatizations of the monarchy too. The White Queen was excellent; the Elizabeth movies with Cate Blanchet, and also the Young Victoria with Emily Blunt... all fantastic. Have you seen Versailles? George Blagden from Vikings (the monk Athelstan) is the king in that. I was going to post about these in Zero's thread...

The Other Boleyn Girl, The Girl with a Pearl Earring, Shakespeare in Love...

I think I'll watch Versailles only to see Athelstan again.

His death was tough on me because I also kinda liked Floki. :(

Kind of like GOT: everybody dies :D

My daughter has been holding us back from watching Vikings, something about not being able to get the fourth season? I believe we are well into the second season, perhaps ready to start into the third... it has been a while, but Athelstan has not died yet :)

Another of my fave mini series is Pillars of the Earth, and the follow up, World Without End, both based on the novels of the same names by Ken Follett, set against the back drop of 12th century England. Pillars has an amazing cast, including Ian McShane, Rufus Sewell, Matthew MacFadyen, Eddie Redmayne, David Oakes, Tony Curran, Donald Sutherland, Gordon Pinsent, and many others (including quite a few women LOL). It is fabulously done. Ken Follett was involved in the production, which really helped keep it true to his telling of the abuses of the church and conflicting power struggles among people grappling for recognition and peerage. I recommend both the books and the series :)

whaaa?? lol Jack O'Neill is one of TV's great characters. i can still hear RDA saying, "it's O'Neill with two Ls", as he held up three fingers. :p

i wouldn't have known from MacGyver he was so good at comedy. :)
