We don't have cable or satellite and don't watch much TV in summer.
When we are watching, it's usually on MeTV.
Wild Wild West is one of our family favorites.
My favorite show of all time was Breaking Bad.
    Don't judge me!
    My favorite character was Hank.
Burn Notice was another good one.

I was actually thinking of Lost when I started this thread.

I think I'll wait a few years to forget some of the show's details and enjoy it all over again.

I just finished watching Lost. The ending was confusing. The entire series was confusing actually but I still liked it.

The ending was awful. But if I judged every show by it's ending, I think I would hate most shows.

Huckleberry! Glad you brought up Breaking Bad. Now that had an ending. A perfect ending tied up in a bow.

I actually hated the way BB ended. I wanted it to end a totally different way. Same with Dexter.
(Being careful not to give any spoilers)

And I knew way before LOST ended that it was going to have a lousy ending... and I stopped watching it after only like 3 seasons because I saw where it was going. Yes, I'm that good!

My daughter does not care for many of the regular network TV shows, but we both enjoyed Six Feet Under on DVD when I first got a wide screen telly for my fiftieth She till remembers how they ended the series very neatly, no loose ends, everything securely tied up with no regrets or apologies. Here is a good explanatory page on it

I don't own a television any more, either. I lived without one originally for seventeen years, between the ages of 33-50 and then after two or three years of watching just DVDs on my lovely new 42" flat screen hi def Sony Wega, I got cable and made up for those years. So much had changed! Everything (almost) was hip, slick, and coyly cool in a way it had not been in the eighties Five years ago I got rid of it again. Of course there are always torrents and youtube.

Alias was fun. We got lost in Lost. Loved Friends, and the early seasons of Two and a Half Men. Revenge did not know when to stop. LOL. All those talent shows, hmmm funny, my daughter likes The Voice, I prefer Idol and America's Got Talent or Britain's Got Talent... but mostly the singing acts; all the other contestants I am not nearly as interested in.

I don't know if I could watch Me TV. Andy Griffith might be quaint, but Hogan's Heroes is surely hokey by today's standards. Some things just don't stand the test of time as well as others. The Carol Burnett Show, okay! Fawlty Towers was so memorable for its hilarity and wit, and was way too short.

Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, Deadwood, Banshee: compellingly gritty, graphic and dark.

Dead Like Me was also quirky, original, interesting, and too short.

We watched about three episodes of A Hand Maid's Tale before I said, no more! Ugh.

    We like Vikings, also

My daughter and I also enjoyed a lot of anime together. Does that count?

I also liked Nashville, and Boston Legal. Boston Legal seemed quite relevant at the time, and irresistible with James Spader, William Shatner, and Candice Bergman. Nashville has so many talented musicians and actors on it... and again, a fairy modern story, well written and executed

Oh I LOVED Revenge! I knew I forgot something! Watched every episode. I also loved Two and a Half Men when Charlie Sheen was on it. I don't watch tv anymore either except for the news. The shows on network tv now just seem to take themselves too seriously. I did like CSI back when it was still fairly new, and I like Modern Family but its not as funny as it used to be.

Did Revenge finally end? Haha I have not seen the ending

The first time I saw Two and a Half Men was when their mom (loved Holland Taylor's character!) was marrying Robert Wagner, and they were spoofing CSI: NY for Wagner's murder following the wedding ceremony in Charlie's house. I did not know they were doing that, because I had never seen CSI: NY before, having lived without TV for so long! It was so frank and ribald and outrageous in its humor, I found it hilarious.

I tried watching a few modern shows like Modern Family... But I found I do not care for the ploy of having the actors talk to the audience directly all the time, as it spoils the illusion I did watch a bit of The Big Bang Theory, and also plenty of the crime shows, like CSI: NY (loved that they used that Who song for their intro) and also Criminal Minds, but after a while it gets tiring having the darkest aspects of humanity served up as a plot-line to grab your viewing attention.

Luther (with Idris Elba) really brought that point home for me. I also tried watching Twin Peaks (never saw it when it was originally on TV, though heard lots about it) but could not get through it. I never really got into Cold Case or True Crime, Bones, NCIS, or Law and Order, but I did like the ID TV shows of dramatizing a true story for the retelling as opposed to totally fictional tales...

Ray Donovan seemed pointless and excessively profane. Never saw the Sopranos!
Blind Spot started with an interesting premise but it gets tiring having to save the world from eminent destruction every single show, you know? Orange is the new Black also paled to grey over time.

My daughter and I did watch much of Dexter. I saw about six seasons of The Good Wife, also. The Wire was fabulous! And of course all the Sherlocks, with me liking both Robert Downey Jr and Benedict Cumberbatch... and all the Fargos

Parenthood was a good show, what happened to it? Do you remember Thirty Something? Me neither LOLOLOL. Oh I really liked the wit of Moonlighting Bob Newhart. They don't make them like that any more...

I have not watched much regular tv for me these days. I do review stuff for the kids but that's home work not watching for me lol
I have one show I follow now . It's Dr Who . I am more likely to have a YouTube channel on the tv than watching a regular show.

I only watch one current TV show, and we all sarcastically call it "chick flick" so I can't for the life of me remember what the real title is! lol. I think of it eventually.

I was stuck. I liked the characters too much.

That's the typical trouble with those branching, Canterbury Tale.-style stories. They start out stupendously, but unravel a little over half way through.

One show I quit watching was Downton Abbey. The first two seasons were absolutely fantastic. Then it just ran out of gas. It stopped being historically immersive and became a combination of a soap opera and a progressive morality tale in which the characters were fundamentally and implausibly altered to suit a narrative palatable to modern people.

I mean at least the show Vikings never shied away from the fact that Ragnar Lodbrock was a Viking, not a social justice activist or closet Christian.
