The Cowsils The Rain, The Park, & Other Things

This is from the 2013 CD "The Billy Cowsill Benefit Concert" recorded live at the
El Rey Theater in Los Angeles, CA, September 13, 2004; originally from 1967.

I saw her sitting in the rain
Raindrops falling on her
She didn't seem to care
She sat there and smiled at me

And I knew (I knew, I knew, I knew, I knew)
She had made me happy (happy, happy)
(She had made me very happy)
Flowers in her hair (in her hair)
Flowers everywhere (everywhere)

(I love the flower girl)(I love the flower girl)
Oh, I don't know just why
She simply caught my eye
(I love the flower girl)(I love the flower girl)
Shes semed so sweet and kind
She crept into my mind
(To my mind)(to my mind)

I knew I had to say hello (hello, hello)
She smiled up at me (hello, how do you do)
And she took my hand
And we walked through the park alone

And I knew (I knew, I knew, I knew, I knew)
She had make me happy (happy, happy)
(She had make me very happy)
Flowers in her hair (in her hair)
Flowers everywhere (everywhere)

(I love the flower girl)
Oh, I don't know just why
She simply caught my eye
(I love the flower girl)(I love the flower girl)
She seemed so sweet and kind
She crept into my mind
(To my mind)(to my mind)

Suddenly, the sun broke through (see the sun)
I turned around, she was gone (where did she go)
And all I had left
Was one little flower in my hand

But I knew (I knew, I knew, I knew, I knew)
She had make me happy (happy, happy)
(She had make me very happy)
Flowers in her hair (in her hair)
Flowers everywhere (everywhere)

(I love the flower girl)
Was she reality
Or just a dream to me
(I love the flower girl)
Her love showed me the way
To find a sunny day
(Sunny day)(sunny day, sunny day)

(I love the flower girl)
Was she reality
Or just a dream to me
(I love the flower girl)
Her love showed me the way
To find a sunny day

Righteous Brothers - UNCHAINED MELODY - GHOST

Oh my love, my darling
I've hungered for your touch
A long lonely time

And time goes by so slowly
And time can do so much
Are you still mine?

I need your love, I need your love
God speed your love to me

Lonely rivers flow to the sea, to the sea
To the open arms of the sea, yeah
Lonely rivers sigh 'Wait for me, wait for me'
I'll be coming home, wait for me

Oh my love, my darling
I've hungered, hungered for your touch
A long lonely time

And time goes by so slowly
And time can do so much
Are you still mine?

I need your love, I need your love
God speed your love to me

To Sir, With Love (1967) by Lulu

Those school girl days of telling tales
And biting nails are gone
But in my mind I know
They will still live on and on

But how do you thank someone
Who has taken you from crayons to perfume?
It isn't easy, but I'll try

If you wanted the sky
I would write across the sky in letters
That would soar a thousand feet high
To Sir, with love

The time has come for closing books
And long last looks must end
And as I leave I know
That I am leaving my best friend

A friend who taught me right from wrong
And weak from strong
That's a lot to learn, what
What can I give you in return?

If you wanted the moon
I would try to make a star
But I, would rather you let me give my heart
To Sir, with love

I have had the Moodies on my mind for this thread, Dan, and also was
thinking of your previous selection just yesterday, in relation to Ecclesiastes :)

The sixties were such an awesome time for music :) I sometimes listen to an oldies radio station at work to get away from the eighties and nineties that are pushed at us interminably, but they seem to have dropped the sixties now and focus mainly on the softer side of the seventies :p
