If you have a favorite song from the 1930s, here is your thread.

"The Very Thought of You" originally, 1934

Sometimes I look at titles of threads, and I think, "Yeah, that just looks like somebody lost a bet."

So, you lost a bet with a coworker over something, and then he says,
"You lose, now you have to go in CC, start a new thread, and it has to be something where ABSOLUTELY NO ONE can think of anything to say."

I heard Glenn Miller wasn't real... and his music was just created inside a computer.

The 1930s was the time of the Great Depression.

I have a theory that although songs were written back then,
people were too DEPRESSED to sing them.

However, soon caffeine was added to all soft drinks and the whole world got better.

This is SO weird! For the last 20 minutes I've been searching for and listening to this old 1940's song and I have no idea why, but I've always like this song. I know its not from the 30's but I don't know of any 30's songs.

Lol.
Wow. How did l miss that obvious pick?

(Glenn Miller would have been my first choice...lm pretty sure he was the only musician in the 30's)

I enjoy that music. Dining at a lazy restaurant listening to Glenn Miller, zipping some expensive wine and only tuxes and extremely elegant dresses around. LOL. Could even make me wear a dress.

It was inspired by McGee's posting Cole Porter's "Anything Goes" in the 50s and 60s thread. If he is a secret 30s music enthusiast, I want this thread to be his safe place to share his faves.
