I try not to let myself go, by that I mean I try somewhat to look presentable when I leave the house. I don't mean to mow the lawn, but when I'm going somewhere in public. I don't wear pajamas and I brush my hair and maybe throw some mascara on. If my Husband and I are going to dinner or a special occasion, I'll dress the part.

I kind of feel abnormal for a woman. I don't care much about makeup or nails, I want my nails to be clean but I don't often wear nail polish. I had a manicure and a pedicure once, I felt that it was highly overrated. I have never ever been to a tanning bed and I don't make it a point to tan every year. My ideal favorite shoes are flip flops. In colder weather I usually wear sneakers.

I don't think there's anything wrong with being into makeup and shoes and all of that other stuff, but I sometimes feel like I'm strange for not caring about that stuff. I have friends that will spend large amounts of money on primping. Am I to laid back? I'm not a slob, I do shower and shave and dress appropriately. Are any other women low maintenance like me?

I consider myself low maintenance. I rarely wear makeup, don't wear heels, don't care for the fact that nails and hair dyes don't last long enough to justify the time it takes to apply them. I dress nice for special occasions but still may not wear makeup. A little eye liner and some lipstick can go along way, though. I do like wearing dresses and skirts, but am equally comfortable in pants and a top and hoodie or nice jacket :) I used to wear sandal type footwear or boots, but find running shoes to be my footwear of choice these days. It is so much easier now to find them in purple :D

There's nothing abnormal about this. There's a whole generation of past women, particularly during the war and post world war when all these modern indulgences weren't available at all. You'll often find that those women were far more invested in cleanliness, hygiene and order than women today who have it all laid at their feet but are too lazy to take their makeup off or truly look after their health and surrounds. My grandma is a prime example of this that I've used on my own path with the Lord.

I have no interest in makeup, I could not be more repulsed by 'tanning beds' or staying out in the sun and piling my skin with layers of filth considered makeup which do nothing for staying fresh and healthy long term. I do often wear authentic vintage dresses because I work and I like to dress according to the formal code. I don't colour or treat my hair in any way, have it washed professionally weekly, cut every three months and allow it dry naturally. However the best investment I've ever made was in my health and my spirituality with the Lord - these things are long standing and ultimately what's been worth it.

No, I don't think you're too laid back. We're all different and I think we should embrace that. Societies view on beauty is distorted and dangerous. I used to wear makeup and highlight my hair regularly. Especially in high school, but I stopped a few years ago. I'll always be girlie but it's more natural and low maintenance now. My hairs it's natural colour and I only wear mascara occasionally to bring out my eyes.

Thank you ladies. I needed to read this tonight. I'm trying to be an example to my Daughter that being modest is a good thing. I also find the tanning an unhealthy obsession for some and it's really bad for your skin. Someone in my family is tan all year round. I worry about her skin. It's good to know that I'm not the only one who doesn't fuss about those things.

Hmmm... I do things according to how my mood is. I'm more athletic, but love to wear stylish clothes when the mood strikes. I like the new look of "skinny jeans" with the high heeled boots. (I have a boot affinity) I do color my hair because it's naturally silver (now at 56) and I'm not ready to be "my mother". I shaved my head when I was 51 because my husband wanted me to go "natural"... (I don't suggest the shaving your head thing... it was an impulsive act) but it was fun for a while. Until I looked in the mirror and saw my MOM! ~

My husband likes my nails to be done, so I have them done... otherwise I bite them to the quick. ~ I tan naturally because I'm an outdoorsy type of girl. I like the sun! I wear makeup ONLY when I'm going somewhere other than the gym. Kinda stupid to wear it all off in the pool! ~

I enjoy being feminine, but my preference is a tomboy! I get dirty playing with my goats and get chicken poop on the bottom of my flip flops when I collect eggs. I don't care who sees that. I change the color of my hair often out of boredom... I like change! I wear everything but a nuns habit. I don't judge or compare myself to other women, nor do I judge them and compare them to me. I DON'T CARE! ~ What I do, I do for myself and to look nice for my husband. (did I mention I have a pet conure who rides on my shoulder when I mow the lawn... it's a biiiiiiiiiiggg lawn and takes an hour and a half on a riding mower... at sometime, this bird has to poop!) So, I DO change my shirt and shower when I'm done doing that. ;)

I'm fairly low maintenance
I only wear make up. And that's only concealer because I look awful lol
Other than that if I have a T-shirt and some short of bottom half clothing I'm good

I embrace my paleness lol
I never wear nail polish
I have my tennis shoes, my uniform shoes, and probably some sort of dress up shoe somewhere but that's it

Personally, I don't give two things about makeup, besides a little nail polish here and there. My choice of clothes is more guyish (...That is, if Hello Kitty and Gudetama can be considered guyish...), and I very rarely wear skirts or dresses unless I'm forced to. And I will never wear high heels a day in my life. Flats are just perfect for me, thanks!

I am definitely low maintenance. No makeup, hair up in a ponytail, T-shirts (and a fleece jacket when it's chilly) 95% of the time, Short, no polish nails. Have always been a tomboy. When I was three my aunt tried to bribe me to wear a dress for $2 for pictures but I cried and was like "no thank you" LOL! I do like to get a little more dressed up every now and then but mostly I like to be comfortable and low maintenance is definitely comfy for me.

when I was younger 18-26 I tanned all the time. spray and beds. Always had my nails and hair done in some salon. I always matched and had bags galore. I wore makeup and spent loads of money on perfumes. When I seen none of that enhanced my life in any way I let it go... I don't tan, not because its not good but I just don't care to. I downsized to a capsule wardrobe. My hair is short and I do color it every so often. and nails? When I want something long, I'll go to a salon.. But I'm much more productive these days now that looking like everyone else isn't my goal.

I consider myself pretty low maintenance. Don't get me wrong, I love wearing dresses, makeup, and getting my hair and nails done but it's also not a priority to do any of that. The only reason why I do my hair, wear makeup and dresses is because I do work in an office setting....now when it comes time to get home, I grunge down and put on sweats and a sweatshirt and I'm happy. Ive also been known to change in a parking lot or in my car driving home lol. Plus, I am never one to spend more than 30 minutes getting ready for work outside of showering.

I'm pretty low maintenence. I don't wear makeup except for eyeliner. I don't wear fake nails or go to the nail salon but I keep my nails neat and clean. As far as dressing, I will dress for the occasion. I prefer jeans and a top and comfortable shoes for the daily. My husband loves dresses and heels on me so I will gussy up for him.

When I go to church, it depends on how I'm feeling that morning. :D

let's consider what Jesus would 'consider/approve' of as Low-maintenance'...

it's of course 'individual' and how we each and every one was 'raised' or how we
perceived what was going on in 'our times' or the ones 'right 'before us', and...
before our Christ 'stepped-in'...

at my age, (70) I and my husband alike perceive that we will, 'Love-walk-dress-speak-,
in any way that He Commands us in every situation presented, because, HE is the very ALL
of each and every one of our lives...if we truly Love, Obey, Serve Him with our whole heart...
