Funny, my friend and I were staring at this from the same screen in the office. He saw black and blue and I saw white and gold. We even tried looking from all different angles >.<
Anyway, I don't keep up with the times. Those who have seen this can carry on!
Your friend must have been putting you on...
I worked in computer graphics and I know all about computer color settings, color correction, color profiles, monitor calibration, etc... I have worked on large commercial prints that require exact color reproduction so what you see on the screen must exactly match the output on the $10,000+ printer we were using....
And I can tell you that there can be some differences between computer monitors but for two computers to display this exact same photo as blue/black and white/gold would mean one of the computer's display settings are set to wild extremes. So wild that it wouldn't even be usable for someone because all the colors would look wrong (people's skin would look green or something, the sky would look dark purple, etc...)
Keep in mind that this dress controversy started in Reddit where people will say
anything for attention..
