Something else I was planning to say in a post eventually...

I have no intention of wasting any precious get-to-know-that-fellow-CCer time arguing or debating things like you see on CC. Now - that does not mean that we cannot have a friendly discussion about [ whatever ] if you just really want to. I am not against it. Only, I would much rather spend the time we have more focused on the people - you and I - than on all of that other stuff. I would rather our visit be more personal -- to get to know each other as people - and, as Christian brothers and sisters.

I don't want our visit to be an "extension" of the CC environment; rather, I want it to be all about the CC members themselves.

I want to get to know you - the real person behind the CC name.

Again -- I want to keep things very relaxed and comfortable.

I want us to enjoy our time together as much as possible -- whether it is 15 minutes, an hour, all day, [ whatever ]...

I'm gonna be up that way tomorrow... riding the bike over the Talimena trail over to Mena.. I'm sure that's quite a bit south of you guys, but I'm looking forward to getting to ride all over that area sometime. I've been up to Magazine Mt, and back down to Mena, about 4 or 5 years ago.

Gary, if we didn't live in a small house and I could guarantee we were both up to having a visitor on any particular day, (we're both disabled and we don't know we're about to have a bad day until we have the bad day), I'd take you up on your offer. BUT to be clear, I would most certainly argue. I'm going to get through to you that there are no spaces around the slash, however I can, until you believe me. lol

On the positive side, I recently found my old resume writer's handbooks around, so could have passed them on to you.

How far are you going so far, (besides to Asia to visit Mar and Wine? lol)

If you want to gain a little better understanding of my perspective and thinking behind why I am planning to make this road trip, watch the video in the OP of my Ted Talks thread followed by the video in post #12 of that same thread.

Of course, these videos only shed light on a part of the overall picture. In fact, the "message" behind these videos was already "in play" in my mind ( along with a lot of other thoughts, ideas, etc. ) long before I ever watched these videos. However, when I did actually watch those videos -- they really "hit home" in a big way - causing a lot of things in my mind to suddenly make a whole lot of sense.

Of particular note:

~ What the guy in the first video says about finding your punchline

~ What the guy in the second video says about collecting experiences rather than things
