I told a few people that I would post pictures of my redecorated classroom once I was finished, although I see CaptainGoat has vacated the premises. :( So, if anyone is interested, here they are. Yes, I do realize I am bragging.

Thanks! I want it to be a happy place. Thanks for The Secret Garden quote, too. It is one of my favorite books and movies of all time.

Thank you, I always had a beach sort of theme, every year I have taught. So I incorporated my love of mermaids, too.

Yes, I did. My principal is very good. She allowed us to paint our classrooms. Some principals in the district don't allow their teachers the same kind of freedom. I'm very blessed.

Thank you, it is kind of what I was going for, lol. I was a little apprehensive the boys may not like it- but they seem to like it fine. It is an improvement over my white walls last year. The boys like my gold glitter lava lamp the best.

Our teachers here would never be allowed to paint anything. No matter the district.

Thats nice that you get to really make the room yours.

Yes, it is very good of our principal to do what we want with our rooms. She's a great leader and I'm blessed to have her as my boss. Like one of my colleagues said, since our classrooms are our homes away from home, we should make it as happy as possible- for ourselves and our kids.

Yes, but I am not so sure you want to hang out with seventh and eighth graders. They can get a trifle loud.

Every classroom I have been teaching in has been so neutral I don't even remember what color curtains it had! I would definately remember a classroom like yours! And I would love teaching in one just like that. Perhaps I should show your picture to my principal?

These are great! I love the castle area. My students are seventh and eighth graders, so a little older than your little ones. I think the kindness tree would work for any grade level, though.
