So I had a very emotionally draining time recently. Are usually was on Discord, the chat site for video gamers. For the most part it had been lots of fun, I was able to meet lots of different people and usually able to make some good connections every so often with other artists.

BUT-

One thing that I have noticed is that the community by and large is definitely, vividly, worldly. And I mean it makes sense it's the world it's video games it's what people are doing. People make this chords not only for video games but also just as a chat room for different interests. Unfortunately sometimes that means anyone and everyone of every kind. This also means it could be anyone in every kind of person be there a young, old, or crazy. Recently I found more of the crazy.

I have decided because of drama that doesn't need to be existing in my life as it is, to just stick to Christian discords. That's probably how it should've been in the first place anyhow. Blain was smart enough to know this but was sweet enough not to make me come to that conclusion without realizing it on my own first.

So here are some tips when roaming through the world of Discord. For the least amount of cursing me and swearing most likely, try to stay out of the voice chats. They tend to be where most of the craziness comes from. Make sure also that you go to a server where everything is very carefully sectioned. Such as a gaming section, a meme section, an art section, ect. The less confusion that there is, usually the less likely it is for trolls to take advantage of that confusion and throw inappropriate content when no one is looking.

Parents, if your child is under 16 or even 18 years of age and wants to use Discord I would highly, highly suggest against it. Not only do the younger children tend to be very vulgar, but also they can be extremely immature and take things way too seriously during their games or general interactions.

I know for a fact that there was a 12-year-old child that was cursing like a sailor the entire time that I was on the chat and she was just speaking conversationally, she wasn't even trying to be provocative at all. That's another thing too if you happen to be an older person, be wary because there are a lot of tiny kids on this stupid site. Not that there's something wrong with kids being on a video game site, but the fact that they're trying to have but sure and or meaningful conversations with people twice and three times their age is probably not good. I had a little squirt try to private message me who was only 15 years of age, whom I have very promptly turned away from the conversation because I had told him that it would be considered inappropriate for someone of my age to be speaking to someone of his age in private conversation. Obviously he thought it was crap and proceeded to complain about it, but he'll understand later.

So by and large be careful.

This sounds like a site to avoid altogether.

You might be right. Found some good Christian ones though. I think another problem too is that my browser won't support Christian chat anymore because it uses Adobe flash player, and also it is in on my phone either because I have an iPhone and there is only a Christian chat android application.

Use mozilla firefox as your browser. Chrome doesn't support flash anymore. Here's a link to download firefox:

I tried to get Firefox, but the newest version doesn't work with flash player which is what CC uses for the chat site. I did the same thing that my chrome had done, only this time I couldn't see anyone or anything

Yea discord is a good idea but like all good ideas can be exploited, Christian gamers are not as common as normal worldly gamers, like I told Stephanie i used to be in a pvp guild in an online pokemon mmo Called Pokemon revolution we were in the top ten pvp guilds in the pvp ranking I think we were third and I was our main pvp Battler but I stopped p[laying because I saw how it was becoming something that took over my time and life day to day and I am a Christian first.

We had a guild chat on discord and they would be very upset with me if I joined discord and they saw my username for leaving the guild and people can be hateful on that thing even fellow guildies. Christian discords could be cool but not everyone is into that kind of stuff, personally I am not really a chat kind of person so I never go to the chat rooms here but even if i tried firefox has been acting weird lately I even encountered the same issues Stephanie was having when trying to join the chat rooms to test out firefox
