I was thinking we all should move in. He's prepared for anything! :)

Which is great! All joking aside...sorry Dcon. :)
No need to apologize.....it is biblical.....wise men see evil coming and prepare for it....the bible is replete with preparation ahead of schedule for coming calamities or possible calamities/events

a. God before he cast down the world setting in motion a plan to redeem man
b. Noah and the ark
c. Jacob sending gifts to Esau
d. Joseph sold into slavery

etc........

we're prepared, dc...

it's just those GREAT-BIG-GIANT-OLD limbs hanging over the house that we pray,
if it's His will, that they will either stay-up, or move over slightly before falling
on the roof...we already know that the roof will leak in a certain place, but that's no biggy...

we stay snuggled in Christ's Arms anyway, so, this is just another time to draw even closer...

And we live almost right on the West Coast.
I was about to PM you to see if you guys are going to move northward temporarily..... Cat 5 is pretty serious, although they are saying it will "weaken" to Cat 4 before it hits Florida... You guys take care...

My wife is going to try to score a couple cases of bottled water this morning at Cosco. I think that we're all set on the batteries. Seriously, this hurricane might be a problem for those in the Sunshine State.
No water to be had at Cosco. Racks of empty shelves at Walmart too. I did fill up the gas tank at WaWa's. Place was a zoo, a lot of people starting to panic.

My gf is in FL. She didn't even know about Irma. When she found out the water was already gone in her Wal-Mart. On her way home she saw a dollar store. Full shelves of water.
Granted this store was a bit out of town, but may be a place to consider for those still looking for water.

Fill buckets, bathtubs etc for bathroom needs. Water for pets too.

Rumor has it that the mayor of Miami will call for a mandatory evacuation on Thursday, possibly as early as tomorrow.

I would get out tonight if possible.

as our Father allows'...

hub went to W around noon, we live in NF, near the coast... and he said that it was 'packed' and looking like a lot
of people were there and he noticed several empty shelves: he felt a 'panic' in the air, from the people there,
which is perfectly normal, but, how many of us are 'truly-prepared'?

We have two cats and we're all set with the food, water and kitty litter. Going to Publix tomorrow and try to buy a few extra things including bread. We decided that we really have adequate bottled water and can always fill up containers with tap water if it looks like it's going to get bad. Wife is going to try the Dollar Tree tomorrow to see if they have any D batteries for our radio. We have skads of AA and AAA batteries but no D's. There is a good chance also we may leave town if necessary but if the entire state is going to get hit where is there really to go?

There was a sense of urgency at the Walmart and WaWa's in Clearwater this afternoon. No water to be had and the food shelves were starting to look empty too.

it does seem 'odd' sometimes, here we are almost right on coast and haven't had a drop of rain today,
that I know of - oh boy, looks like open garages will 'FLOOD',,. oh well, nothing new here, except
'buckets and pottie-chairs' - can you believe it? oh yeah all you young, and lots of older folk,
you just wouldn't believe what's going-on behind the scenes...:eek:but, it takes a True Heart to Care...

Thank you for your concern. We will probably do this. Maybe inland to Orlando. I have family there.

We will get stuck on the highway I'm afraid. Last time I saw that was 17?years ago while still living up north. I'd rather stay home and pray. :)

We live in the highest area in St. Petersburg, and we are just short of 3 miles from the water, so we are staying.

The islands will get a pounding. It's too bad. I don't think Haiti ever really recovered. Now this.
