Not Hearers Only,
So the epistle of James exhorts us to do. We are
to follow the examples of Jesus and that means
we stay in tune with reading scripture. But reading
is not enough, following the examples is what is
necessary. And when we follow Jesus, we do it in
the love of God. This way we become united in him
more closely. What that means is that we don't do
things to earn anything but that we do it with a joyful
heart. This allows us to become spiritually enriched
and keeps us ever closer to the Lord. So whatever
we do, no matter how small, we do with the love of
God. In that way we partake of the gifts of God and
feed on His Spirit.
