I am looking for maybe some advice?

For a long, while now (like a year or more now)

I have been dealing with the idea of starting a youtube gaming channel- BUT it will be while I play some slow calming games, I can talk to people about God and the channel it self would even have God's name in it so people who click on it are not shocked to be hearing the word of God by me.

I only have been thinking about it because so many of our kids in this world are lost and all most all of them would rather find something to watch on youtube than on TV or even in books. And gaming seems to be a big part in kids who watch youtube...

Yes, would this be a good idea? Or should I just leave it?

Wait! Games have sound?

I've always made sure to turn off the sound. The noise drove me nuts(ier).

When it comes to church, I once heard, "If they come for the entertainment, they will only expect entertainment."

I'm not really into tricking people to get them to hear the message. Probably, because I'm sure they won't hear the message.

I think its a nice idea, BUT, if you are going to make it apparent that its a Christian channel (you said something about having God in the title), dont be surprised that you dont get many views. Christianity is not well liked by the modern world, people are being led to believe its something evil and all that.

You may also get some edgy atheist critics in your comment sections too, so youll have to deal with that too : p

Didnt you say you played Morrowind? Or am I mistaken?
Never heard someone say that about more modern games, haha.

If you make the name something obvious many will simply not click. Or a number of those that do will click with a preparation to ridicule. Trying to establish yourself as a credible gamer while being forward about your faith is difficult to do.

A more feasible idea, in my opinion, is to make a faith based gamer site for Christians. If things become credible enough people will go, knowing ahead of time what to expect.

But you have to consider that most will be turned off by anything overtly religious. The same struggle happened with Christian bands. It took them years to gain much credibility and despite that it has started to happen many people will not listen simply because of the band's beliefs/message. Or are even mocked.

I find gaming one of those areas hard to mix with spiritual things. With music or even movies you have a platform designed around expression. With games the focus is on... games. And gaming discussions. Not really a natural blend.

If you end up doing this, please post a link to your YouTube channel in this thread. It'd be fun to see! :D

It sounds great, but you might get some resistance from certain YouTube people. You need to know what your going up against, people of the world can be over protective of their young ones. If you're going to do this, make sure you specify your motives in the description on the channel.

Good luck.

If you spend the big bucks, buy a new system and the latest gizmos and whatchamacallits and sign over your first grandchild, you can even get a game with...

wait for it...

Colour! :p
