Hi Ive been thinking of getting one of these for a while.

So I finally bit the bullet and ordered one. :)

I wont be taking it to church with me but will use it as a
devotional bible at home.

Im quite a creative person and I like the idea of interacting with
God's word in a different way, personalising it etc. Plus I'm definately
a margin writer, I find if I write things down they stick in my memory better.

I just wondered if anyone has tried it.

Here are a few videos if you have no idea what I am talking about. :)

I don't know if I would want to draw all over it as shown in some
videos, but I like the idea of colouring in meaning full verses and
highlighting special times with God, or when verses have specifically
spoken into a situation. Maybe even drawing out or writing out
prayers etc.

I suppose it could become almost a God diary and spiritual walk journal.

Hi Miri,

I've been looking at them for the past 3-4 weeks. I have a journal that I draw art work in and copy down some of my favorite passages and highlight some of the scriptures.

I also add some poems into my journal. Even songs. It's fun. One video mentioned that we need to make it heart work to grow in the Lord instead of just a craft. I also add wise sayings of Christians or a quote.

I've looked at a few journal bibles and I prefer the more plain jane type because I want to choose what to draw and where I want to draw it. The elaborate ones are too busy for my taste. But we're all so different so what some like, others won't and vise versa. That's what makes us all so unique. :) The others are pretty nice looking and do the drawing for you and then you color it in.

Great minds think alike. :)

Yeah I thought it sounded interesting, plus a way of having more time out
with God. Ive ordered the larger inspire bible, thinking it would have more
space. :)

If I decide to get one, I'll let you know which one I get. :)

We can share what we do in them and maybe share some more ideas for it being a heart work. :)

I do inductive bible studies and we mark up worksheets of scriptures with different colors or symbols of key words. We learn about the key words as we do lists of them.

We do contrasts and comparison and conclusions. Every time we do a new study, we're reminded to do heart work instead of home work so that it sinks into our Spirit and not just our mind. :)

I got the bible and I have to say I love it.

Its so inspiring flicking though all the wonderful verses, there is something unique :)
as well, in colouring in the various pictures, I find I end up meditating on the verse
and praying while drawing, colouring etc.

It really is an amazing way to interact with God's word.

Im working my way through Ecclesiastes at the moment. I can really identify
with what is being said, life is so meaningless without God, so much of what we do
has little worth. I don't know how people can go through life without knowing God.

I'd be afraid of making a mistake in my writing or something and having to scribble it out or something and making it look ugly. It's a neat idea though. I've got a legal pad with me when I read so I can jot down notes and thoughts, but it's terribly disorganized.

I use pencil, that way I can rub it out. The above bibie though, has wide margins and
ruled lines for note taking and ideas. It's a great idea.

I've never been a journal person per say, but am a poet and author: but, when certain
said phrases or ideas come to the for front, we both, hub and myself, do write some of
them down for some reason...:) - but writing down things can be very, very healing...but, just do it
when the fan hits you...else it will become a burden if not done in the right way, which of
course would be, The Lord's Way...

Its interesting to look back as well in years to come, to see how
you have changed as a person in your walk with God.

As a younger person I was very mater of fact and naive. I read the bible
and thought "that's nice".

But over the years Ive fallen in love with the bible, it really has become
a living breathing thing. Some verses I laugh over, others I cry over.

Still others I dig deep wanting to reach the hidden treasures beneath.

Hubby/John became a Christian in 1971. We met in 1979. (Started dating and got married in 1980.) I'm a "don't write in books" kind of person, but he was a highlighter/margin-notes kind of guy. And there simply wasn't any more room to write in his Bible. And the pages were falling out. And the notes were too good to throw it out. And he kept it for another 5-10 years before retiring it. (He still has it. It's just retired.) And now that it falls apart if he opens it the notes are useless.

Giving up a much-loved Bible is like giving up a teddy bear. Just. Can't. Be. Done.

But can't enjoy it anymore either. It's too sad, so I can't.

John stuffed the notes on the right page of the Bible.

(Probably the reason the Bible fell apart, of course, since it doubled in size, but the binding stayed the same. lol)

love this - the full verse says
Now may the God of peace make you Holy in every way, and may your
whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless until our Lord Jesus
Christ comes again. God will make this happen, for he who calls you
is faithful.

Amen. :)
