I am a Calvinist. (Never read anything but one-liners by Calvin, but, okay, if that's what you want to call me, go for it.)

I am living off the government. I am that festering plight you think of when you rally against people living off the government.

I am no lady. I've made that clear from say one, because I will tell you what I think in no uncertain terms, and won't lay it all on the infamous "them."

I am "inner city." Yupper, live in Philly, so I am very much an inner city person.

I am poor. Not destitute, but nine times out of ten, I'm poorer than you are. Even more likely to be poorer than you are if you're American.

I am a conservative, but I do not support Trump. (Seems like he's able to support himself quite well, so doesn't need my support.) I voted for him, only because the other choice is a criminal. I think he's a lousy president, but we've had enough lousy presidents in my lifetime that I'm pretty sure I'll survive him too.

I am part of a denomination.

I understand that God is truly sovereign, understand what the word sovereign means, and won't be changing my mind about that.

I may well talk to other people in a thread besides the person who started the thread, and, sometimes in doing so, the conversation moves away from the OP.

I think thinking that if you eat just right you are living the godly life is stupid. I think the gospel has absolutely nothing to do with eschatology, so if your entire connection to God is through eschatology you aren't connected to God. I do not think living the middle-class American dream has as much to do with God as dust bunnies. And I know every answer to a bad marriage is not "your spouse is a jerk so divorce him/her."

Okay, now that you know what I think, (as if I've ever been quiet about what I think), and you don't want to talk to me because your precious little pet discussion would be uncomfortable if I entered into your line of vision, please, do the obvious -- block me so I never land in your line of vision.

And if you don't want me to see whatever junk you want to say, feel free to PM me to ask me to block you. I'm happy to. Half the people who have openly stated they hate my kind are already on my ignore list and have no idea they are. What's a few more?

Today I've been told my kind isn't worth anything to America, to Christianity, to this site, or to someone's very precious post, despite that I was the one who answered the bulk of the questions asked.

You're tired of my attitude? Trust me. I'm more tired of yours.

I would leave this site, except there are some in quiet desperation who needs encouragement (real encouragement) and a friend, and I've been trying to remember them and encourage them.

All clear now?

I always love reading all your postings - they are interesting and descriptive. You take the time to answer questions and usually with a sense of humor.

But what a lot of people do not see is your big heart toward people who are struggling with things. You are generous and encouraging. Sort of like a "house mother" to many of us. Even to the ones who could be your mother!

Before you take seriously someone's criticism of you, look at the motives behind what they are saying. Some just love to be offensive - some are just completely thoughtless - and some are total jerks.

Some of us just love you!

this.

and what some people don't see is that it causes your feelings to be hurt, not just for your own sake, but for others.
there's quite a bit of talking past one another, and often no real attempt to try to understand what someone else is saying.

i see you making that attempt every day. kudos to you and to everyone who does the same. :)

Lynn is certainly direct and is not afraid to speak her voice even if it is met with opposition but for someone to say things about her infuriates me and is absolutely not true.

Meh! Often it is true. (That's what the list was about.)

Just figured it's easier to be upfront and let people decide if they want to deal with me or not. Tired of thinking they don't mind I'm all that, but then scold me for it anyway... as if suddenly I just changed everything about me.

No matter what you do, people won't be happy. You'll always end up bunching somebody's undies.

I have a lot of dislikes about a lot of people here at CC, but you Depleted, are not one of them. For many people here, if I see they have posted in a thread, I just pass over it. If I see you posted in a thread, it's worth my time to give it a scan to see what's going on. You generally have something to say worth taking notice of.

Depleted. You are one of my heroes here on CC. Sometimes I don't always get your point, but that might be just me. You are full of wisdom and I have often been inspired by what you post. Be true to who you are. You are a wonderful lady and I wish I could be more like you.

You know Lynn regardless of what is true on your list or what isn't the fact they said this about you,Today I've been told my kind isn't worth anything to America, to Christianity, to this site, or to someone's very precious post, despite that I was the one who answered the bulk of the questions asked

THAT is makes me angry and they are lucky I don't know who they are or else the would be getting a very big lecture from me

Oh, hubby was the one who started checking out this Calvinism thingy. (Big mistake from a minister who wasn't a Calvinist. He made his syllabus available for anyone interested, and because he studied from learned Christian men, it's bound to end up being mostly Reformed reading. And hubby discovered a new hobby. Reading those books. lol) It was a gradual change, but hubby led us both over to Reformed.

Where I come from if someone said that to me it would have been greeted with a Glasgow Kiss.
Fortunately I am a new creation in Christ.

Its not with wasting your breath responding (unless of course your a dragon that breaths fire:cool:)

You and I have had many a discussion and very frank at times but I can't recall nasty.
I enjoy them so keep em coming.

Not sure whether I'm a calvanist, Pentecostal, charismatic, pre-trib, post-trib or whatever.

Just know I'm a simple man in Jesus and want others to see it. Seems the person who posted what they did obvious struggle with this.

For those of you who do know what a Glasgow Kiss is here we go

God bless you Still woman, but no lady.

LOL I'd use "Glasgow Kiss," except I'm afraid I might say it to Dad. No idea how fond he is with his Irish roots, but his mom would have slapped me. LOL

I suspect the genes come from the UK though.

Good phrase. It sure describes me at times.

What is it that you want to make it easier? the OP isnt explaining how you want someone to make it easy for you.

though the Calvinist doctrine does make it easy to walk away from people, not much forgiveness can be had in those pages.

As far as I see it, the ones unforgiving are some of the Arminians, you included. (Some. Not all.)

Read better. I didn't say anything about making it easier for you. You read like you write -- too busy forming a new opinion to bother checking out what I've said or you've said.

(Experiences talking -- and this is where the scoffers become free to post their opinions.)

I didn't say make it easier for me in my post, I ask because your thread title said the word (me) I assumed you were saying you, what are you saying there.

who are the scoffers you are referring too?
