We must be aware that men will do false miracles to device us. One of those false miracles is chasing arms and legs to grow. Todd white became quite popular for this. All it is is an optical illusion.

You can try this for yourself, first just sit down and hold out your legs in front of you and bring them together, you see how one leg looks shorter than the other, than just move your legs apart. Same thing works with arms too. All they do is slowly move one away from the other.

The second way to do this to have the person being healed to sit with their legs out in front of them and slowly pulling the heel of their shoe, it looks like the leg is growing, but the healer is just pulling down the shoe or boot.

Don't let these devils trick you.

Stay strong in Christ and be blessed.

I guess people didn't consider this
You shall have no other gods before Me.
You shall not make idols.
You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain.
Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.
Honor your father and your mother.
You shall not murder.
You shall not commit adultery.
You shall not steal.
You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.
You shall not covet.
I wouldn't be so casual to use the Lords name if I were them

It is good to remember that the devil only counterfeits what is already real. Or man decides to deceive with his own manipulations.

But I choose to never limit the Holy Spirit in any way. There are times He would/might choose to do this. I've seen in person more wonderful things than this - some of it on myself (no help from man).

(Remember I'm PCA, so, so is hubby.)

When hubby was a young man, he was part of the Jesus People. (So was I, but in a different state. We hadn't met yet.) Back then, miracles happened fairly regularly, including arms and legs stretching. One of hubby's friends had broken his arm seriously when he was a kid, so it was three inches shorter, and he went up for prayer. His arm grew. Want to know how he knew the arm grew? The buttons at the end of the sleeve popped off.

Not enough? Yeah, well, the young man had to have all his long-sleeve shirts tailor-made because one arm was that short. The next day, he tried his other shirts, and then spent the rest of the morning buying off-the-shelf shirts, because none of his tailor-made shirts fit anymore.

Another time he knew another young man who went up for prayers. (He knew him. They weren't friends, but he knew him.) That young man had problems walking down the aisle after his leg was lengthened. He struggled because the lift in his one shoe suddenly made it hard to walk.

Sure, people can fake it. But for those who received that miracle, no faking was required.

Hard to believe, but God still does miracles, even if people would prefer miracles have disappeared.

(Ha! I knew we'd find something to argue about quickly, besides "devil music." lol)

There is a method of making the legs come together. My doctor used to do this with me. It's a rotation of the hips.

But, when you see ones leg grow 6 inches or more? And arms that are paralyzed, and you can see the impairment with your own eyes...pulled gently out from the body and become normal? No man can do this.

I was going to try to stay out of this one. Because I have been blessed to have seen some of this done with my participation, but on a much smaller and more limited scale. And I have seen far too many things done through others to just blatantly dismiss all of it as trickery.

But that ain't gonna happen.

we've both been partakers of many miracles, with ourselves and others,
and we both have been in confrontation with the darkness that prevails here, many, many times:
it truly is a 'battle', but when we Faithfully serve our Holy Creator, we begin to realize that this
is the 'way of this world', and that He has blessed us with the power to 'defeat/overcome' it...

It's not that I prefer miracles didn't happen anymore, it's that I don't believe certain miricals do. Miracles were primarily used to point to God. For example Jesus performed miracles to show he was the Christ.

I don't know what exactly happened with your husband's friend, can you explain more? Was there touching or pulling involved?

I won't say it's all trickery, but deception is out there.

It is true that many miracles are all fake and for show and that has lead many to not believe in them or not certain ones at least but you know I wouldn't put God in a box

Hubby told me the stories many years ago. All I remember besides what I told was it was a visiting preacher who also had the gift of healing and it happened in the church he was going to at that time. The two men didn't go up for longer limbs. That would be like me going up because I wear glasses. I'm aware my eyes aren't perfect, but the glasses deal with the imperfection, so why fix what works already? Both men already adapted to their less-than-perfect, so they went up for an offer of prayer. I can't imagine hubby remembering why they needed prayer, even if he knew then, but I'm thinking if God fixes a limb, that is the kind of answer we get further understanding from.

It seems to me there are only a couple things we really need to know from God:
1. Do you still love me?
2. Can I trust you?

Both of those questions were answered by their limbs growing.

It sure is but you seem to like to focus more on deception than the real.. Note key word 'focus'
It's important not to be deceaved and to test every spirit.

I'm a cessationest, I believe the gifts of speaking in tounges, healing, and prophecy have come to a stop because this gifts have served they're propose in establishing Christ church. Now that we have the Gospel I wonder what the purpose of miricales, signs, and wonders is. Not to say that healing doesn't come through prayer.

My belief is that the reason for it is to be a lead in to the gospel or just to help out a christian in need. think about it, most people reject the Gospel because they need to know that our God is real, what better way than seeing something most everyone would call "impossible" in the name of the God in question?

Sort of, in Scripture people believed in Christ because of the miracles they seen, but then tuned away when Christ told them they must eat of his flesh and drink his blood. Also seen in Scripture that some wouldn't believe Christ even after seeing the miracles. It's the truth of the established Gospel that one needs to believe.

Then we have to look at what is being taught by these healers who are being validated by miracles. Is it consistent with Scripture?

This is all true, but not everyone is that way. besides, miracles alone are useful. healing is good for healing. that's a good thing on its own. However i admit there are fakes. And not to mention one person in scripture believed after Jesus told him information he couldn't have had access to and didn't turn away(word of knowledge) i don't remember the name though.

Actually they turned away when Christ stated they cannot come to him unless it had been granted by the Father; John 6:65-66

I think you're reffering to the woman at the well, Jesus told her she had five husbands.

Miracles are good, but that doesn't mean they still happen in certain ways.

The ones that left were not elect, but their own reason is seen in John 6:60.
