Re: Life equations

Hi posthuman, It's still all Greek to me. :)
Yes, we should strive to learn a bit more greek, Dr. I remember trying to learn the greek letters as a child but still not able to identify all, just as sign language is so foreign. Ah, but am i glad i do know Alpha and Omega=).

I learned the Hebrew letters. :)
Aleph
Bet
Gimel
Dalet
Heh
Vav
Zayin
Chet
Tet
Yud

Ok, I guess I need a refresher course. :)

I'd love to learn Greek. Maybe one day I will. Maybe I should see if there's an online class that isn't too expensive. :) I'm sure I'd use Greek often because I take bible studies where we look up scriptures in Greek.

The Alpha and Omega would be the Aleph and the Tav in Hebrew. Too bad you didn't continue as a child. They say that's the easiest way to learn a language.

The greek is the letters that fraternities and sororities use... alpha, beta, delta, lamda, gamma, sigma, kappa, pi (that's all I know)

Life equations

Here's something very simple i always thought of as an equation w/out realizing it.

Joyful heart = good medicine... but

Broken spirit = dry bones.

Prov. 17. 22 A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones.

More:

Since learning some Scripture songs for the children like The fruit of the Spirit... it has also appeared something like this in mind:

Fruit of the Spirit = love + joy + peace + patience + kindness + goodness + faithfulness + ...

There are many equations in the book of Proverbs, some simple addition formulas where we may benefit for practical life=).

Prov. 1 20-25

The Foolish = enjoy making fun of knowledge + never learn + would not listen and paid no attention to Wisdom + ignored all her advice + not been willing to be corrected

Prov. 2 1-4

How to gain from wisdom = Listen to what is wise + try to understand it + beg for knowledge + plead for insight + look for it as hard as you would for silver or some hidden treasure

Prov 2 7-8

Rewards of wisdom = God provides help and protection for righteous, honest men + protects those who treat others fairly + guards those who are devoted to Him

Solemate,
Here is something on happiness too:

From Prov. 32 1-2 (on confession and forgiveness)
Happy = whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered
= the man unto whom the Lord imputeth not iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no guile.

Proverbs 15. 1-5 (TEV)
Who may enter God’s temple and worship Him = Person who obeys God in everything
+ always does what is right, whose words are true and sincere
+ who does not slander others
+ does no wrong to his friends nor spreads rumors about his neighbors
+ despises those whom God rejects, but honors those who obey the Lord
+ always does what he promises, no matter how much it may cost
+ makes loans without charging interest
+ can’t be bribed to testify against the innocent.

Something abt the simplicity of the equations that i want to post, from an email received.

Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life. Proverbs 4:23 (NLT)

Your heart determines the course of your life. God reveals that the condition of our hearts will determine the course of our lives. What is inside your heart is taking you somewhere!

Sick heart = sick life. Healthy heart = healthy life.
