    Default animals/dead pets in heaven?

I've heard preachers talk about this and every one has a different opinion on it, but do you think there will be animals in heaven? I'd like some scripture to support your views. I think I'm more on the side of yes, there will be animals. They are one of God's most amazing creations and it makes no sense to me that he would just erase all those wonderful creatures.

I've heard people saying that dead pets will be in heaven waiting for us. Now that I'm not so sure I believe. (It would be lovely to see my dead dog Chloe again, she was family) But the bible doesn't mention it as far as I'm aware. All I know is that it says it will be more amazing than we could possibly imagine. If that includes being reunited with loved pets, who knows? Only God

No one knows. I don't think the Bible really talks about it.

I'd like to think your animals you've lost will be in God's kingdom. Seems like Heaven wouldn't really be Heaven without having your animals who love you so there with you.

There are lots of views on this.

But let's just take it from a logical point of view.

If dead pets all go to heaven, well, what makes "pets" more worthy of heaven than any animal that's NOT a pet?
    Nothing.
So, if all dead pets go to heaven, then all dead animals of every kind would all have to go to heaven.

So, heaven would have far far more animals than people.
There would be billions and billions of cats and dogs and rodents and everything else.
Billions and billions and billions.... maybe trillions.... cats, dogs, mice, rats... billions upon billions.... many billions more mice and rats than people.

Think about this for a while.

Does this really make any sense.

Is heaven really a place for every mouse that has ever lived?

Does this really make any sense?

Is God's throne really surrounded by billions of feral cats?

Is this what heaven is for?

    Does it make any sense?

I understand everyone loves their dog and cat.
I understand everyone wants their dog to be in heaven.
I understand lots of very nice people are going to feel very emotional, and be upset about this, and disagree... for pretty much no reason.
    But let's think this through.

I've heard the accounts of people who were clinically dead and were revived or came back to life and some of them claim to have seen their former pets along with relatives who've passed on.

I should have been more specific. I meant, new animals. not the resurrected rodents and strays of the world. lol

The question most people want answered is whether or not their pet will be in heaven.

    It's not that laughable.
People get very upset about this question.

And... if you resolve this question, I think you'll inadvertently get the answer to your question as well.

That wasn't my question though. I asked if people thought there will be animals in heaven. Not every single animal that has ever lived, not dead pets (that was just a side thought) but if there will be such a thing as animals in heaven and if anyone had any scripture to back up their view. No one is getting uppity here. Just a casual food for thought question.

Ecc 3:20 All go unto one place; all are of the dust, and all turn to dust again.
Ecc 3:21 Who knoweth the spirit of man that goeth upward, and the spirit of the beast that goeth downward to the earth?

There will be no pets in heaven, for it is for people, not animals, and in heaven a person would not need the company of their pets.

Isa 65:17 For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind.

Jesus went away to prepare a place for the saints that where He is they may be also, which is a new heaven, and new earth, and the former heaven, and earth, shall not be remembered, nor come to mind.

That means of all that pertains to the earth, and heaven, the saints will remember nothing of it.They will remember not one single thing, and it will not come to their mind, which Jesus said behold I make all things new.

A saint will not remember their pets, and they will not remember their family, and friends, and they could be standing next to their mom,and would not even know that she was their mom,for they will remember nothing of the earth, for if they were to know that was their family,or friend, then they would know about the earth, but they will not remember the earth, and all that happened there.

A saint cannot miss their pet,for they would not even know they had a pet.

Nothing that pertained to what happened on earth will be remembered, and nobody will be in heaven but people, which the saints will not even know those people if the knew them on earth.

For all things are new,and when the saints, and the angels, are in the New Jerusalem, they will remember nothing prior to the New Jerusalem, and they will feel as if they had always been there, and nowhere else, and it is a place wherein dwells righteousness.

The saints will not remember the earth, for it is associated with sin,and rebellion, and in the New Jerusalem rebellion will never rear its ugly head again.

But the saints that are with Jesus now in the temporary heaven do remember their pets, and the earth, but when they get to the New Jerusalem they will remember nothing prior to that.

There is no pets in heaven, the New Jerusalem, but the saints will not miss them for they will not even know they had a pet.

Isaiah 11:6 In that day the wolf and the lamb will live together; the leopard will lie down with the baby goat. The calf and the yearling will be safe with the lion, and a little child will lead them all.

    Isaiah 65:25
"The wolf and the lamb will graze together, and the lion will eat straw like the ox; and dust will be the serpent's food. They will do no evil or harm in all My holy mountain," says the LORD.

    1. My best guess is that around 9 out of 10 people ONLY hold a view on this issue BECAUSE they have already PRESUPPOSED a view about their pet.

    2. So emotionally, and psychologically... it IS relevant to deal with the pet issue.

    3. There IS scripture which deals with this issue, but it isn't direct... we have to "derive" the answer from other verses about other theological or philosophical issues.

    4. Also, people are going to entirely confuse verses about the "new earth" with a place called "heaven"... and thereby completely misunderstand what the Bible says on this issue.

    5. There is so much confusion about this simple issue, due to exegetical problems, and human emotion... that I started by just avoiding the verses altogether, and using simple logic exercises.

I'm going to leave this thread before everyone gets mad at me for hating on their favorite cat.

    Have fun.

FYI: I was on topic... your thread title specifically says "dead pets".

That's just it, you can't distinguish. It's either all animals or no animals. So Maxwels first response still applies.
But also consider that for an animal to die and go to heaven it has to have a soul. If it has a soup and lives on this planet it's affected by sin. If it's affected by sin it needs salvation. If it needs salvation it would need Jesus. Even the smartest animal can't comprehend needing Jesus to save them.
So either animals are soulless or all going to help. Personally I'm going with soulles since there is no scripture stating otherwise.

though a pureness of heart is shown of the ass balaam rode on,she could see the angel that was wielding a sword to smite balaam,so just another thing to consider since it is written"the pure of heart shall see God".

After losing my beloved Ella this past June, I truly miss her, but as a believer, I never thought for a moment that she is truly dead because the One Who gives breath to all that lives has simply taken His breath back to Himself. Does this mean Ella will be waiting for me in the Kingdom?

Who knows? I do know this, when we are in the Kingdom the recompense and the mere reality that we are there with the One who gives breath to all living will be more than a reunion just with Ella, it will be with life.

So in this sense, true sense, we will all be together for all eternity in great joy and jubilation

Oh, that breath given includes all life, plants, fishes, and animals. We are distinct, but you know this, right?

throughout the creation account where "living creatures" are mentioned it is the word "nephesh" that is being translated.

And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is lifeH5315, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so.
    (Genesis 1:30)

here in the kjv it has been translated "
    life"

And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soulH5315.
    (Genesis 2:7)

and here in the kjv it has been translated "
    soul"

so God speaks about every living creature as "
nephesh" - and describes Adam as becoming a living "nephesh" by breathing His breath of life into formed dust.

so, you have to decide whether "living nephesh" i.e. living "creature, life, soul" is eternal or not. is the existence that Yah gave to all "nephesh" an everlasting existence or does He create it only inside of time, temporarily? is the soul annihilated?
