kAs long as any part of the world is a US territory, it is to be cared for by the US. Its president is the President of the United States.

Now, this is supposed to be a place for Christians to gather and discuss. As far as I have been given to know by the news media, there are many people in Puerto Rico drinking contaminated water.d There is no power and not expected to be for up to a year.

If this is how anyone here believes people unter the care of the US government should be living, I am ashamed to call you fellow Americans..

You want DPuerto Ricans to suffer. Why is this? The only one I have ever heard of who likes people to suffer like this is Satan.

Since when do we who believe in the oly Son of God condemn others for suffering? Do people here like kicking when they are down. How diabolical can you be claiming to love Jesus Chrsit. This is beyond political, it is an opportunity for those who believeto act in love. I pray all act, amen.

If you knew just how devastated Puerto Rico is you would not be bickering over who knows what about the government.

FEMA, the Federal Emergency Management Agency is responsible to all citizens who have the US President presiding over them. Instead of facing up to the responsibility of the presidency and teh people of the US, Trump is threatening to pull FEMA out.

Now, the devastation must be managed by that responsible agency until it is no longer needed. It will be up to a year before the peope, our people, of Puerto Rico, will again have electrical power restored everywhere. Many, probably most. are obliged to drink contaminated water.

Let us be just a little bit responsible for our family there........and if all are not in Christ, why should this bother someone who claims to love Jesus Christ to help all without looking to see who it is in need?

Do not go into this blind support of evil, it is wrong.

Gal 3:26 For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.
Gal 3:27 For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.
Gal 3:28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.

If anyone here loves Jesus Christ, he or she also loves Puerto Rico and all countries....That is to say, those who dwell in them..

If helping Puerto Rico is alien to you, then you are alien to Jesus Christ, and you should be simply a politician.

FEMA has released details about the amount of aid provided to the islands thus far, including 4 million meals, 6 million liters of water, 70,000 tarps and 15,000 rolls of roof sheeting. The agency has said that federal personnel are “aggressively working 24 hours, seven days a week” to restore power, communications and port access.
“The difference between Puerto Rico and the mainland is the logistical challenges,” said FEMA spokesman William Booher. “Unlike Texas and Florida, with Hurricanes Harvey and Irma, you can’t just move in with a convoy of trucks and supplies. Everything has to be brought in by air and sea.”
He said that there are now 10,000 federal workers on the ground in Puerto Rico and that more than 120 satellite phones arrived Tuesday to help responders communicate with one another.
This is a cut and paste from a Washington Post article on Sep 27th... right after the hurricane hit.

Doesn't sound to me as if the US has forgotten about PR....

Perhaps the OP should spend some time working with a relief team after ANY natural disaster, to see how easy it is to "armchair quarterback" the response.

I have worked in the aftermath of an EF5 tornado, and it isn't as simple as "here's a truckload of water, go hand it out." And, you don't just plug the lights back in.... the logistics of disaster recovery would boggle most people's minds...

PS.....Witchita Falls, Texas 1964......I was there also. Being in a position of feeling helpless, unable to help oneself, is compounded when any HELP THAT IS availed threatens to leave, and if they actually leave it is ading despair to devastation.

I know, I have been there........Jesus came and made all good, forever..... He did say there would be detractors and hateful ones attmpting to stop any forward progress in His Way, but He does it all....

It seems Puerto Rico is just fine as long as things are going well, but in bad weather no oneis extending a hand.

This man is said to be very Christian........is this showing love? Is this demonstrating it? God bless Puerto Rico and the wonderful people of that beautiful place.

Puerto Rico is a territory not a state, they do not sign up for the draft. I work with a Puerto Rican that complained about the Us I told him let their boys/girls for the US equally then maybe... They get our protection but do not have to fight if called to. G-d bless Puerto Rico but want the benefits of America be American and all that it means.... Puerto Rico has not wanted to be state in the past....

Allow me to think the same about all who support today's brand of Americanism, you do not know what freedom entails. You do not know what charity is. You believe some folks deserve to die by these natural disasters without aid from those who care.........

Wait a moment! Perhaps you know exactly what you are talkign about.....I am content in the sight of God with what I actually know.

Willie-T I apologize for falling into that.

It pisses me off that people are going off from the grain of the OP......that is the desire of some of our fellows in the flag and the leadeership threatening to cut off their legal aid, especially while they are in a situation where they are forced to dringk contaminated water or die.

This forum is intended to be peopled by those who believe Jesus Chrst Who has taught us to give without looking to see who it is.

I have always wnted my tax money to go to health, education and welfare because I feelit my duty to watch over my national family. Yes there have always been and will be cheaters, but we cannot punish the needy because of them, that would be satanic.

Puerto Rico is the responsibility of the United States as long as it is a possession. Trump is legally the president of Puerto Rico. I am sorry if others do not understand the implications of this, but even without those legal implications we are our brother's keeper.

Now if you believe the noble Puerto Rican people are something less than other people, I am sorry for you, for all peole truly are created equal, yes, even outside the US.

When and if Puerto Rico votes to be an independant nation, it does not stop our duty to our fellow man to help them should anything like this ever occur again. In the meantime I bid all, "Have a heart."

    What is with you?

They had help. Plenty of help. And very quickly, too. FEMA was right there immediately after the hurricane. And well over 17 thousand more people are also there now. (I think that was the last number I heard) But, the operation of FEMA was never intended to set up a home every place it goes.

They did their job, and now they need to regroup, resupply, and spread themselves around our country in anticipation of the next disaster they will have to respond to. Multiple thousands of people are still there, working every day. Our big hospital ship is there, too.... and tons of support and supply ships. And millions of dollars of supplies and even cash keeps pouring into that island each day.

They are just being asked to take some of the responsibility (which they have shirked for decades), and stand on their hind legs and do some of the work, themselves.

Lot's of ingratitude these days. Then ungrateful don't focus on the many who were helped, supported, that were put back on their feet. That's not good enough because a leftist will find someone who is disgruntled in the midst of all the help, who feel they should have gotten more, more, more and more, and oh how they got mistreated, and will use the person to slander whomever they will that is conservative and have done their job.

And the naïve buy it up because that is what the mainstream media feeds them.

Nobody has suggested that we don't help PR.... as has been shown to you, there have been millions of dollars and thousands of people sent to help already, and both are growing daily...you simply refuse to accept it as being of any value..

Please tell me YOUR suggestions of what the US should do to help? What would satisfy YOUR requirements, that would make you think that we all care?

Talk, and complaints are cheap... let's hear some solutions!

The OP is from the day Trump threatened to pupll out FEMA from PR...... Got it yet?

The grain of the OP is the heartlessness of some people and the lack of responsibility in fulfilling what is their responsibitilty.

If you "own" a nation, you are responsible for it, or is this the new morality, immorality?

You do not apy much attention to what you are responding to.......it is not political, it deals with our due as believers.

If you wish to say because Trump is named, makes it political, go right ahead. For me it is like mention Caesar or Herod... is it possible you can grasp this? Or are you going to make this some kind of political loyalty test? If so, before asking others to do as you think, first ask Jesus to do it.

It is getting late for me, so if you post now, there will be no reply before tomorrow.....Good night, and may God bless you with all understanding.

When evil is even approached, it is to be fought. We war against things other than of this age, that is that can be seen. Watch therefore and guard the gates of your mouth, for out of it proceed both blessings and curses.

Eph 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

Beware of giving a man the glory...you could cause his demise...

Act 12:22 And the people gave a shout, saying, It is the voice of a god, and not of a man.
Act 12:23 And immediately the angel of the Lord smote him, because he gave not God the glory: and he was eaten of worms, and gave up the ghost.
