I can't figure out how one knows if a person has made a response to one of my posts unless I 'go and look' each time. Is there any setting that would alert me that someone responded to one of my posts? (I know it is kinda late in the game to be asking this lol)

That's what I do, or I'll just click on my user name and then click on "subscriptions". Or click on quick links and then click subscriptions. It might depend if you're on the full site or not though.

I went nuts trying to put my replies in between sections of a quote like I've seen others doing. Turned out I can't do that from a smart phone. Lol.

Oooh, I just found out that if you click the little blue box with the fast forward symbol on it, it will take you to the very last post of that thread.

That won't work with people who have names longer than 18 characters...... the long name pushes the blue box off the screen. So there is nothing to click on.

No there is not. And it has been suggested many times but seems to not be a part of the software CC is built on. So it's not an option.

Also such posts would be more suited to the User2User Tech forums.

I have the exact opposite problem.
My home e-mail gets an alert whenever someone does respond to my post.
I got 6 extra e-mails yesterday.
I wish I could stop it, but can't.

I think if you go up to the top of the page, click on Forum Actions, then General Settings, you should be able to find an option that will turn off email notifications.

Hi ugly, (where’s your eye avatar?), I thought about posting in the Tech Forum but thought it to be a simple procedure, rather than a ‘techy’ issue, that I wasn’t aware of.

Just add quote and /quote before and after the parts you want separated, in proper forum tags of course :) I would suggest not removing the original quote text with the person's name and post number, for that contains a link back to the original post. So if the person had written something you wanted to respond to in three parts, put [ /quote] (without the space after the first tag) after the first part, and then start typing your response. When you are satisfied, move on to the rest of the original post by putting in [ quote] (again, no space after the opening tag), and then [ /quote] to separate the next section, after which you again start your response. The remainder of the original post is still there, to which you would add [ quote] at the beginning of, and the original end quote will still be there [ /quote]. I hope that helps :)

Hi CN!! Good to see you back! And no there's no way to get notified when someone replies to your posts. Unfortunately.

The only way to know if someone's replied is by checking the thread every now and then. It sucks and I, as well as many others, have suggested to have this feature before but... I don't think admin has the time to put it.

I do know it's possible by using the mention system for vbulletin forums (what CC is using) but it'll probably take some time to implement.

what we do is,

if we are interested to see if someone responds to our posts,
or just want to continue to 'read' the thread, we put the 'thread'
on our home-page Favorites. to see your own last post in the
thread, we just click the Thread in our Favorites and it takes us
back to our 'last post' on the Thread...:p:)

I got bored with it. No doubt it will return. Muahahahahahhaaaa!

I get your point, but the section is meant for all tech questions, even simple ones. People that may know more than most others may be more inclined to check there as well. Separating your tech questions, therefore, may reduce your chances of getting a more accurate answer.
