Why did you pick your username?

I'll go first.
We love huckleberries and go on camping trips
every summer specifically to pick gallons of them.
My favorite movie of all time is Tombstone, so that's self-explanatory.
Huckleberries are the "State Fruit" of my state.
Seemed like a no-brainer.

Please tell your story.

My username has no special significance. One might guess by looking at it that I'm not very creative.

I just thought of calling myself Stranger and then added random numbers so it would go through.

It sounded better than my real name, but I wouldn't have picked this nick today.

Mine is a riddle or a private joke. My real name, as many know, is Andrea. In Norwegian "andre" means other or second. Translated to Finnish that is "toinen" and then added an "a" and there you have my username. Not a very deep, symbolic meaning. Just a private pun that hardly anyone understands.

Maybe that old song "Oh, Susanna" was stuck in my head when I picked my nick?

One of them is a song that makes me think about my life. I’ve had tragedies in my life and shouldn’t probably even be alive right now, but the Lord brought me through and I have no physical problems at all now. I have had friends who have died from the same type of accident I had, yet I survived.

The Lord has blessed me and sometimes I wonder why. I’ve failed the Lord so many times and sometimes I forget what all he has done for me and brought me through. So I guess, I chose the name because it reminds me of what God has done for me and how I should always be thankful, live my life for him, and try to be a light to others in this world because God is the only true hope in this world.

As stated in my intro and another thread my username I chose because it is my favorite nickname given to me by a kid cousin,it was so cute and catchy her calling me this that I kept it and use it as my username on multiple Christian Chat type sites.

Due to the title, I guess I'm obligated to answer this. :/

WineRose was kind of like a Plan B nickname. I wanted to be named "Blood Rose" at first, but later decided that that nickname could raise some eyebrows, lol.

I am hopelessly in love with a man I met on another site, IMDb. We talked about My Fair Lady. I wanted him to be my Professor Higgins and me his Eliza Dolittle. The play is based on a Greek myth, Pygmalion and Galatea. Pygmalion was a sculptor who made his ideal woman out of marble. He fell in love with the woman he created, and Aphrodite was impressed, so made Galatea come to life to love Pygmalion.

Greek mythology on a Christian site. But William Cowper studied Greek mythology, and I defy anyone to question Cowper’s Christianity. My fairy tale did not end so happily, as my Pygmalion found out I was not the beautiful creature I had professed to be, and now I am rudderless without my Pygmalion to steer me.

Romantic twaddle, I am sure.

NotmebutHim: I chose that name because of what Galatians 2:19-21 says:

"For I through the law died to the law that I might live to God. I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me. I do not set aside the grace of God; for if righteousness comes through the law, then Christ died in vain.”

I am adopted, and so the story goes (though there is no way to verify it), as an infant, I was originally found in a cardboard box in front of a theater in Seoul, South Korea.

"Seoulsearch" is my entire identity in a nutshell.

Not only is it a nod to my own origin story, but it also represents the search for who I am (in other words, the essence of my own soul), as well as a reference to the fact that I feel God has also called me to help others in their own search for who they are, too.

Many times, I feel that "Seoulsearch" represents who I am even better than my real-life name.

I wanted to express what God has created through all the pain and difficult times. How He has not allowed my heart to be hardened...but how He has made it joyful, loving, giving and how His light shines in even the darkest of places.

I chose Lynx because I like felines. I did not choose Tiger because they are too heavy and muscle-bound. They have to lie in wait for prey to get close enough. I did not choose Cheetah because they lack endurance. After a hunt they must rest for up to half an hour before they have the energy to eat. Lynx are a nice balance. Also a lynx poses no danger to humans unless provoked. You will never be stalked and killed by a lynx. Stay out of the tree where a lynx is trying to take a nap and the lynx will leave you alone.

I am not going to dress up like a cat, but I do think I have some similarities. I value my agility above many things. I don't say much but I am usually quietly observing everything. I can be deliberate and patient when needed, but I can also quickly decide and act.

Also if you poke me in the stomach you'll get a face full of red lines. Also - and this is just a theory because I've never had opportunity to test it - if you scratch behind my ears I'll probably purr. =^.^=

Come on! You chose that name because you have pointy and fury ears. *scratching you behind your ears waiting for a purr*

I chose Joidevivre because it means "joy of life", and even with many turbulent times, I have always enjoyed my life. There has always been an inner joy that nothing seems to take away.

I say inner joy because I am on the quiet side with a soft voice. But you would still
see a sparkle in my eye, and a ready smile most days.

Jesus said about the joy He gives us, " No man takes your joy from you". I have found that to be true.

I picked Miri, because every name I tried came back with “user name already taken”.

After almost giving up I decided to look up the names of stars, after all there are billions
of them. I found a star named Mira but when I regestered the name, auto
text changed it to Miri...... and the rest is history. :)

Mira
proper noun
 1. (star) A binary star in the constellation Cetus; Omicron (ο) Boí¶tis. The system contains a variable red giant and a white dwarf. Its brightness varies from a magnitude 2 at its brightest to a magnitude 10 at its dimmest.
