So I never know what to do when someone gives me a rep.Do I thank them in private,in the thread,or not mention it at all? What do you all do? And while Im at it I'd like to thank those who rep-ed me over the years.I especially appreciate the ones the the little note.I always try to leave one when I rep.So thank you all, you know who you are. ;)

If I receive a rep that includes the members name I make a point to thank that person in a PM. Either way, do what you feel is best.

If I know who it came from, I thank them in PM. If it's anonymous, I thank them on the board..

I sometimes thank people when they rep me with a name and a comment, but I don't seem to find anonymous reps as meaningful or sincere...especially if they're sending anon reps to everyone only for participating in a certain thread...

I rep for a feeling people give me. Sometimes that feeling is Amen! Sometimes it's a reason to laugh, or think, or to appreciate encouragement for someone, even if that someone isn't me. It's edification at its finest.

John and I enjoyed a big feast last night. We both worked hard on it for two days, and then just had to reheat for last night's dinner. I thanked him and he thanked me. We have had moments when we did thank each other for the thanks, to the point it became, "Not, thank you" back and forth for a couple of minutes.

I consider reps like that. If I do something good, a thank you is a good thing to get, but if I thank the thanker, than it seems to diminish the gesture. It feels like I'm trying to one-up the person. A thing of ego. So, I just assume they appreciate it like I did.

And on here, I do see it as ego, since anonymous reps are thanked in a thread, and the one who gave it seeks the credit... Oddly, I sometimes wonder if that really was the one who deserved the credit to begin with or just a limelight moment. After all, who is going to step up and say, "No I gave that rep?" And really, I would think if I did give the rep, then that other person did too, so it's a good cover-up.

Truthfully, I give less reps to those who thank me for repping. It's kind of like being thanked profusely for heating up dinner by the person who went through all the work to make the dinner before. Awkward, unless I know they're joking a little bit by thanking me for thanking them for thanking me for... lol But if that's not the intent, it just feels awkward.

Well often I either give out reps or get them, but don't always get a thank you nor do I always thank someone for rep even if they put their name, not sure why,I guess because I'll give them rep with a nice message eventually as a thank you,or because they say something awesome, but since I have time now...
Thank you all you crazy, smart, whacky, cool, and awesome people that like Joefizz and have given him rep over the course of about a year that he has been here, some of you who are my friends have never given me rep but to those who haven't still, thank you for accepting me as a friend, joining me in ruin a date in 4 words and other mischievous threads, and for brightening up my days with advice, funny moments, prayer, smiley faces, purple posts, kitten posts, and discussing about God/Jesus,I will likely remember each moment for all my life, and cherish them, yes even the embarrassing moments, the sad moments, the creepy moments, the bizarre moments, misunderstood moments,I'm sure to remember most all of them and am glad for it!

Wait until you're old enough to understand "senior moments." By then, you'll notice you've forgotten a huge majority of your life. The only reason I remember what I had for dinner last night is because "Thanksgiving." Any other day, I couldn't even remember that. lol
