I've been thinking on this awhile,so far due to working in a paper factory currently,I now have around a year's experience working with factory machines, but I am curious about opinions of other jobs people think I would be better at or like more.
Because right now my job I get a little over 8 dollars an hour,2 double shift days,7 hours per shift plus overtime,28 hours a week, roughly about 375 dollars every 2 weeks, and I'd really like to find something at least that pays a little more, and particularly that I can learn "a trade" from, all this being said, what job from your overall observation of my traits do you think I would be better suited for or perhaps like more in your opinion?

Well the main thing about a job is that yes it is important to have a good pay but far more important to have a job that you enjoy. and many would say well you gotta do what you gotta do to pay the bills and this is true to a point but would rather go to a job that overworks you and you dread going to and pays well or go to a job that you love doing even if the pay isn't well?
These are things to consider when thinking about getting a job, for you my friend if your wanting to work in a trade of some sorts my advice is to first search your heart, what do you enjoy doing and would you be willing to make it a living?
For instance there are all kinds of trades even painting is a kind of trade however painters make very little money yet they continue to pursue that career because they are living their passion others are writers and love writing and even if they don't sell a lot of books they continue their career.

So my friend what do you enjoy doing? and also how far are you willing to go to make it a living?

Well that's why I decided to ask this question because I am rather at a stand still,I mean work for God that I have figured,I wanna be a church children teacher, though I might end up a preacher, but work as far as job career,I still don't know,I at first thought of being a game store clerk because of my extensive detailed memory, but then thought on that alot of the games I would be selling I wouldn't be able to sell in good conscience.(games with nudity, drug use, mutilation, and so on) Others have told me I have the gift of gab, suggesting that I could be a phone answerer,I really would like a job that makes use of my "talents".
Talents- I have thousands of unique ideas in the back of my head,I can and do remember so many things that others may or may not forget,I am somewhat of a perfectionist,so when I get motivated to do something I strive to do a task as efficiently as possible and I notice things that change day to day that others might not notice at all.
I like neatness when I can have it as a possibility and though I don't stress over it,I try to keep work areas or places clean and uncluttered where possible though often I don't like "repeating a task" particularly a big task like moving furniture around to dust.
I also like doing things in an order or pattern instead of just doing a task in some whatever way,and like challenging myself to do something the same yet different in order to not get bored.
I am good at inventory mind wise but not on paper usually.

What do you LIKE doing? What brings you pleasure?

If you like working with your hands, and have a mechanical knack, you should get some technical training, and get into equipment maintenance... and if you are able to learn software type stuff, you can specialize in more technical equipment.

It's a good field, stuff is always breaking down. People who can "fix things" will always be in demand.

I would recommend college....that way you can get some education behind you and the possibilities would be endless. It would also give you more of an idea on what you would enjoy :)

For the record, finding a job in where you actually love it is very hard or next to impossible to find...so you need to be able to mold yourself into being the candidate people would want to hire for the higher paying jobs...thats where a degree or certificate would come in handy

Please don't take this the wrong way...

I mean this with total sincerity... judging by your very fun-loving, joking personality on here, I think you would be great at being a professional clown entertaining kids at parties.... (its just a thought)

College anymore is nothing but a money pit that no longer guarantees anything.

The real choice to make is if you are money focused (not in a bad way), or if you want a job you'll enjoy. Few people find jobs that provide both.

actually this is the kind of response I was "hoping for" honest opinions,I have considered the option of clown or better yet comedian, since I know how to get people laughing without really trying, and I would like to "clean up" the comedy industry because come on people comedy doesn't have to be all cuss words and talking about inappropriate stuff, what has happened to "artistry"?
I would be able to travel and make money...though I must admit it would be tough because I being an introvert don't really express even comedy too well and don't wanna over do things,I've already lived a life where I made lot's of things about jokes.
clown I definitely wouldn't be able to handle because people expect them to be very cheerful and whacky all the time and that would be a strain on me plus wearing make up I would never do just because I don't like the idea,so being a comedian would make more sense because one nice thing is that "you don't have to be cheerful" you can actually be sarcastic and blunt in that field with people,it does sound better and better, and with traveling I could do double the work I could spread God's word and make some people laugh for a money making career, urgh if only I wasn't such a crowd dreader this definitely would sound pretty ideal for me!

Yes yes, this! If you like airplanes. I seriously considered going into it once. Back then there weren't too many places offering training but now they even advertise on tv. Just watch out for schools that only want your money and don't care about your training. There's a lot of that going on in the trade industries now...

Glad someone else understands that college isn't as great as people make it out to be,yeah it's a money taker and now with that fraternity junk on the rise,no thank you,I chose to not go to college to spend time with my family I never got to be around be anymore people died in my family and don't regret that decision because through that family I was lead to God,so I think I'll just try a career that doesn't require the extra piece of paper that cost thousands of dollars just to even have a possibility to get.

electrician, hvac tech, plumbing...dont require degrees and the salaries are respectable enough to allow you to support yourself. if you can master some of these technical skills you can even run your own business.

My Dad was a supervisor for TWA, my brother was an A&P for a training mock-up company (before he lost the good ride by getting into drugs), and I fly the durn things. Trust me, there is money in almost anything associated with Aircraft.

Well I don't have much knowledge of how to fix machinery I have more knowledge of computers than ordinary machinery due to multiple computer classes,I know how to type properly on an actual key board, and how to make paragraphs(though I slack here for the obvious reason of no computer)and finding information fast, and I have experience tinkering with multiple browsers and search engines to see which ones are more efficient for certain purposes, such as speed, downloading,or video loading.

I just want to say that the reason I didn't pursue becoming an A&P (airframe & powerplant mechanic) is because I have some pinched nerves that make my fingers go numb sometimes. That's also one reason I can't be a pilot. :(

A large part of Aviation today is computers. Also, think ATC (Ground and Air), and/or Simulators.

Sounds perfect for my job, methodical, organised, good memory but also creative.

Im a civil servant working for department of transport, dealing with anything to do with
heavy goods vehicles.

Drug smuggling, poor maintenance, road accidents, environmental issues from people
being woken at 2am from the noise of engines reviving up, headlight shine, diesel fumes,
loading unloading, illegal tipping, HGVs getting stuck under low bridges because the driver
forgot he was in a lorry, immigrants sneaking into lorries at the channel tunnel, driving offences.
I even got to speak to Elvis Presley! Lorry driver changed his name!

No two cases are the same, you have to think on your feet and find creative solutions,
have a good memory, work with the Police, Councils, customs, national Parks, Environment Agency,
deal with MPs, remember legislation, prepare cases for public inquiries, learn how everyone else
does their job so you can do yours, and be organised. Other than that it’s easy! :D

Oh yea...air traffic controllers (ATC) make a lot of money! It would be a great job to have if you can hack it. Their job is stressful. They have to be on their toes mentally at all times. There is a national training center where they certify new controllers but I heard that passing their course is quite hard (as it should be since they can't make mistakes on the job).
