I think it's a good idea. This is the future (and now) of manufacturing and personal creativity. Good thing to learn about. Check out the YouTube videos of the company Carbon 3D. This is like checking out Microsoft in the 80's, just the beginning of the next revolution. Pretty amazing. Feed your son's enthusiasm.
