Have her put to sleep. Don't make her suffer. Tell your son not to be selfish, it's about easing HER suffering... If she's pottying on the floor, then she is sick. That happened with my Tequila, she had other problems, but would poop on the floor on occasion.

Oh, and you CANNOT "replace" a cat. Each one is unique. :)

I have two. Want to put one to sleep because she started using the floor as her box, but my son went off like a mad man when I got the cage to take her to the vet... to die... But I would replace her with a kitten, like I did my last cat wit with FIV. Is there something for cat enthanasia?

Over the years I have had some magnificent toms -
Azmo weighed in at 5kg or 10 lb but none of my cats compared in size to her cat below:
what do you feed this with?

Baxter is our orange tabby here on the farm. He is the oldest living pet at 14 yrs, and he is irreplaceable. Fortunately he is in excellent health (and hope he will be for many years to come). He is so friendly to everyone I have to keep reminding them that he already has a home...lol. Wish I could share pics.....never really tried. The photo of the "big cat" could be cerval or lynx.

Bronny is our 15 year old female cat.. She is an excellent mouser ( although she is not as good as she used to be ) She has a great personality and will come up to visitors if they are sitting down and mug them with affection.. She loves getting scratched on the lower back.. And yeah she is irreplaceable.. I have had cats in the household where i have lived since the day i was born.. Never been living in a house without a cat and i have lived in 10 different houses in my time..

That is definitely a lynx. Note the tufted ears. Though with the spotted legs, it might have been crossbred with a serval. Though why anybody would cross a serval with a lynx is beyond me...

On closer inspection it seems to most closely resemble an eurasian lynx. I would also comment that it seems to be unhappy. It is tolerating the human, probably because it knows there will be reprisal if it swats the human, but that pose is unhappy.

I hate cats. So I have four of them.

Two of them have been with us for 15 years...unfortunately, they both seem to be about ready to shuffle off their mortal kitty coils. They both need a trip to the vet to see what can be done for them, or if it’s time...*sigh* Either way, they’ve both lived like kitty royalty and left lots of half-eaten critters on the welcome mat.

Our other two cats are fuzzy jerks who step on my hair while I sleep and chase my chickens.

I did take her to the vet to get checked. Paid a stupid amount to find out nothing is wrong with her. I do not think animal are human but not that mean either... my "meow" (hope you get it) is worse than my bite....

I have always been a cat person. Never had to "buy" a cat. They just find me and move right in.
Or friends and foes give me cats that they can't look after for whatever reason.

Right now I have 'Mitzy' who was a feral homeless young cat scrounging food from bowls put down for house cats.
Mitzy moved right in and made herself at home. Married our tom, Azmo, and had a litter of 4 beautiful kittens.
She has chopped ears and had a huge gash down one side. I reckon she was sleeping in one of the many cars that the neighbours have on their property, and someone turned the ignition key while Mitzy was under the bonnet. So she has teddy bear ears.
She is a real bossy cat and is very demanding of her food, none of that cheap stuff.
A terrific mouser; always coming home with mice and rats (brings them into the house to play, even the odd bearded dragon lizard).

If my dog, Lilo, wants to come on the bed and Mitzy is already up there, Lilo won't come on up on the bed. Mitzy sits right there on the edge with her tail twitching.
I have to move Mitzy over to the other side before Lilo will jump up.

She is quite happy about choosing us as her servants and carers.

oh yes, cats, dogs, horses, = our human connection with the 'others', species that our
Maker has created and are now so compatible and wonderful additions, as long as we
keep them in their respected positions...on 'both sides'...

our latest cat, which was a 'drop-off' from about 7yrs. ago: we came home one night
and I saw a streak of light running up to the house as we drove into the driveway and
he came running right up to me - since we were 'catless' at this time, we still had some
left over cat food and some milk, so I naturally couldn't help myself, and put them out
on the steps for him - nurtured him, even brought him 'into the house', which is always
a 'no-no', except when we have little ones so that we may bond and so that they will stay
close to home and not wander - anyway, after all of MY NURTURING, as always, he became
infatuated with hub instead and hub is his 'pride leader', with myself, as usual taking second place:eek:...

I really don't mind,:) for this particular cat is more like a 'dog' than an 'cat', - he each and every day
awaits hub's arising and coming outside to spend all of his time with him, which entails following him
everywhere he goes and trying to participate in everything he does, to the point of jumping into the
wheel barrow, along with the tools or whatever else happens to be in there and going along for the ride,
sitting right in front and looking like he is scouting out where hub should go...if hub rakes up a pile of
leaves, he sits right in the middle - if hub is picking up sticks, he picks one up, if hub takes a break in
his chair, he has to pull another one along side so 'cat' can have the same resting time, but of course
he wants a 'cushion' or it's not satisfactory, hub accommodates him, of course...

he ALWAYS, every single day, awaits hub arising, and plans his 'cat-day' from there...
he is a great 'patroller' of our property and very intense, he is very large and very protective
of his 'territory', - he 'owns the indoor garage next to the house, and what we do to accommodate him
is well, let's just not go there...
