Actually, I think many truths do exist despite the evidence.
I do not understand what you are attempting to convey here. Truth exists, and there is evidence for Truth existing. That people are blind (or deaf, as with the tree falling in the forest scenario :)) to the evidence does not in any way negate the fact that Truth exists, and there is evidence for it.

Also, since we are on a Christian site, with someone asking if Truth exists without evidence of that Truth's existence, I feel a need now to point to Romans one, not to spoil anybody's fun, but just as a reminder, that God has made evident His existence to all, and those who deny Him, do so willfully.

This is why Jesus promised the Spirit of truth
so that we would know truth and experience it

These signs shall follow them that believe ...
is the evidence of such
confirming the word of God to be true

If a tree falls in the middle of the forest and nobody’s around to hear it, does it make a sound?
Sound is a concept created by brain activity (thoughts). Without a thought to create the concept of sound, sound will not exist to the observer. Sound or sound-waves is nothing more than compressions of air molecules. Some compressions are inaudible to the human ear, and even by instrumentation, yet the compressions must exist as part of the continuum spectrum. Just because it cannot be measured (evidence) does not mean that the compressions do not exist.

The truths we have direct evidence about largely pertain to the so-called visible world. However, there is more truths in the so-called invisible world, which we cannot gather evidence about unless we, and measuring instruments, also become invisible. The reason being is that the invisible (the finer realms) contain all the visible (denser realms). Where the visible cannot contain all that is invisible. In other words, the visible universe exists within a much larger invisible universe (so-to speak).

As I said, far more truths exist in the invisible than anything we can have evidence about in the visible.

Amen!

As I asked in my previous comment, are we talking about man's truth (visible/temporal) or God's truth (invisible/eternal?)

Evidence is in the eye of the beholder. Atheists will point to lots of evidence that God does not exist. Yet we all know the truth is that He does. Evidence and faith are often at odds with each other, at least on the surface. Too, a lot of Christians do not accept evidence as truth. For example, there is lots of evidence that the gifts are still in play today. Yet how many Christians perceive evidence that they are not and deny the truth?

That has not really been clarified, though I have addressed both :) I am reminded of the atheists, agnostics, secular humanists etc with whom I conversed for many years before I arrived here, those who would claim there was no evidence for the existence of God. I cannot count how many times I informed them that denying evidence does not equate to there being no evidence [SUB][/SUB]

I have seen more that the non-believer will say there is no evidence for God's existence, as opposed to saying there is evidence that God does not exist. The latter seems a logically fallacious assertion, along the lines of not being able to prove a negative :D I remember one guy, he seemed really reasonable and was always logical to a fault until it came to the point of what was to be considered acceptable as evidence. Then he would say such things as, since we have not examined ALL the evidence against, there was no way we could come to a faultless conclusion in favor FOR. So it became apparent that he was blind to his own failure to examine all the evidence in favor for, and his coming to the conclusion that God did NOT exist therefore clashed with his own belief that ALL the evidence must be taken into consideration before one can make such an assessment.

And yet that is not the Scriptural way, either, though God does say, "Come. let us reason together." :)

Yes, it is in the eye of the beholder, and it is to those who seek that the promise has been made, that they shall find :) Then they would ask me, why would they go looking for something they did not believe to exist in the first place? LOL. However, I believe people do search for truth, and Jesus Christ is the embodiment of Truth. God reveals Himself to those who seek diligently :)

It moves the air, which causes sound.

So yes.

Just because there was not anyone there to hear it, it doesn't meant that the airwaves were not moved which in turn generated sound.
